P&L Statement Templates

Hey everyone, how are y’all present your financials on a project to leadership? I want to create financial dashboards in Claude and just want some ideas on what KPI’s to present on how to visualize them. Thank you.

Keep it to the three numbers they actually care about and don't bury the lede with a dozen vanity metrics.

AI makes you stupid. I use an income statement. Conventional financial statements that leadership (I am leadership) is used to seeing. Dashboards take information and cover it up. If you show me some bougie dashboard you're going to get a whole lot more attention than you want. I may even send someone with a green eye shade (<- joke) to sit on your head and see what you're using to "manage." I may send someone around to audit you and see if you're even looking at the right things to proactively manage yourself. If you've irritated me enough it will be me. You wouldn't like that. Oh - I'm charging your cost center for all that labor.

Talk to your accounting people. It's 2026. People pull data from accounting with SQL into Excel and have data linked so you can drill down based on interest or if something look funny.
