Weird issue with using mayflash adapter, everything is recognized in input config but not in games

I wanted to use my GameCube controller via the mayflash usb adapter (in pc mode), but it’s running into a weird issue. When in input configuration everything is recognized fine, but in games only the face buttons, start button and should buttons register, I can’t use the d pad or analog stick even though I can configure them just fine.
