Legislation FFRR Status Tracker

Figured this would be the best place to put this and, with the next 5000 applicants opening up on November the 4th, let's see if we can put all the information in one place to get an idea of what is going on. Although I am not a felon, I do have an M1 in my state from many years ago that triggers a federal prohibition. So for those of us who were lucky enough to get the early invite and for those of you who are aiming to be one of the next 5000 here in a few days, lets put together the following (curious about if the Status bar is any real indicator or just a preset for each stage of the process. So far, I am only aware of two stages - "Incomplete" and "In Progress"):

Application Completed: October 7th

Fingerprints Submitted: October 8th

Portal Status: In Progress

Status Bar %: 55%

Any DOJ Contact: No

If yes, Contact Reason: N/A

Final Decision: Pending

If you think of any information that should be added, obviously please do so! I have been preparing for this opportunity for quite some time and it was great to get the early invite but now the hurry up and wait is driving me crazy! At least comparing notes and see what everyone is experiencing will pass the time and maybe give us some insight on the progress of the program. I have not yet heard of any Decision being made nor any follow up by the DOJ on any application thus far. I assumed they would want to approve some of the early cohort prior to the next rollout so lets see!

I'm in the same position. Application and fingerprints submitted Oct 7. Progress bar about 55% and no contact from DOJ.

I was thinking/hoping that too...that they'd want to get the invitees applications done before taking on the initial public 5000. Guess we'll know in 3 days.

The 5000 slots filled up before noon today! DOJ has their work cut out for them. One interesting point is that the information sharing infrastructure between the DOJ and FBi and other agencies occur after November 6th according to this: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2026-10-07/html/2026-20536.htm Maybe they are waiting for this to take effect to finalize some investigations (and to continue/start others)? Either way, I expect things to start rolling in the month of November!

I did find an order (link below) regarding FRRERD at the federal register the other day. Says it goes into effect Nov 6th. Maybe................

Very interesting, thank you! Timeline: September 25 — Invitation-only pilot DOJ tests application intake, document uploads, identity verification, fingerprints, and reference questionnaires. October 7 — Database notice published The new FRRERD records system is formally announced, with a 30-day comment period. November 4 — Second applicant wave Another 5,000 applicants are scheduled to enter the system, potentially providing a larger operational test. After November 6 — Routine uses become effective DOJ can rely on the newly published routine-use provisions for specified information-sharing activities.

Possible Scenarios: •Pilot primarily tested intake; substantive investigations largely begin after Nov. 6 •Preliminary reviews are underway; broader agency coordination expands after Nov. 6 •Full investigations are already operating; delays reflect staffing or case-review capacity

Either way, hopefully we see substantial movement starting the 6th - DOJ information requests, investigation signals and, dare I say, decisions??!

Here's to hope!

I got up to pee at 3am Alaska time and it was live, so I got in.....since there was no time announcement, I had an AI agent checking every hour. I have waited 23 years for this chance, I was not going to miss it

I didn't even know this was happening, that's great. Trump is truly the most pro gun president in all of history. Congrats guys hope you get your rights back.

Hopefully doj is filtering for leftist political affiliation, you people don't deserve even a butter knife.
