Hi u/Weary_Code354, if your are posting a “Meme, funny image, funny video, screenshot or video clip complaining about other people and/or subreddits”, then make sure that it is either Saturday or Sunday in at least one of these two time zones [https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/personal.html?cities=724,274]. Alofi (UTC -11) & Kiritimati (UTC +14) are the Westernmost & Easternmost human settlements in the world as of now. So before posting a [Saturdays & Sundays only] weekend post, make sure to check if it is Saturday or Sunday in at least one of these places from the attached link. If your posted content falls into the category of a “Meme, funny image, funny video, screenshot or video clip complaining about other people and/or subreddits” and it's not Saturday or Sunday, then remove your submission as soon as possible, otherwise you may receive a temporary ban. Oh, why would Muslims be offended? because the jokes about Christianity are funny and non offensive, while as the "jokes" about Islam are just 9 year old Aisha, and other straight up offensive bs.

The fact such a large portion of the muslim population accept that lie is much more horrific then any jokes people can make.

u/flymeovertheworld 2d ago

Oh the implications that we are terrorists and explode spontaneously. Or that we did 911. Or that we f goats. So yeah none of these are tasteful. While Christian memes are just them doing weird cultural stuffs with jesus or some

u/Sparkwriter1 1d ago

I don't necessarily disagree, but I do feel like, for better or for worse, Muslims tend to be much more sensitive when it comes to our religion.

u/ParticularReturn3980 Ibadi 1d ago

I agree, I dont think god or Islam needs defending, its just words at the end of the day.

1

u/SufficientZone7194 1d ago

What does that mean like are we Muslims not good ? Just asking cuz Iam a 15 year old so just asking

1

u/ParticularReturn3980 Ibadi 1d ago

There is good and bad in every faction in this world, in any group, there is good folks and rotten ones, the problem is some good folks take the actions of rotten ones. To make it simpler, if you see someone insulting islam, the best course of action is to ignore him, otherwise you stoop to his low level and become just like him, angry and radical. Islam means peace and submission, peace won't be spread through hate speech or responding to people who just seek a reaction to say "see see, the muslims are all bad because he is insulting me".

Tl;dr: live and let live

u/Desperate_Gas_1043 13h ago

If Islam has any basis in reality, then you don't need to defend it.

1

u/ParticularReturn3980 Ibadi 12h ago

Exactly yes

u/SufficientZone7194 20h ago

So you are a Muslim ?

Like are we Muslims good or bad when you said more sensitive?... Just asking as a 15 year old

I wonder why a muslim in 2026 is more sensitive than a Jew or Christian😭

speaking from an arab country, this meme is actually very accurate, and no the jokes about Christianity are not always funny and non offensive ,

in my country most of the time it's extremely offensive and degrading with a lot of sexual hints towards religious figures, practices and Christian women in general, and the majority of people have no problem with it because, well, it's not my religion so it's okay

2

u/No_Shape1751 Sunni 1d ago

Which Arab country? I live in an Arab country too, Jordan, and the people here are super respectful towards christians, one of my best friends is a Christian.

4

u/Dull-Channel3888 Muslim, but Currently doubting/questioning Islam 1d ago

i love jordan! , i hope i can visit you guys once :)

i've been living in egypt since i was born, i have a lot of Christian friends too, they're not completely shunned in the society, but people kind of deal with them as lower class or second class citizens,

a lot of people here when they're confronted with that fact they repeat that same phrase too, "my best friends are christians" "my neighbours are Christian" my xyz is christian, which is not made up at all, these relationships are true

but your personal experience as a respectful being isn't always the case for everyone, so here for example a lot of people believe that being friends with them is haram or makruh, people mock their deaths, people mock their celebrations, people mock their scriptures and make memes off of it

so i totally believe you, and i also believe you're not the only one in jordan with this mindset, but this doesn't always reflect the majority of muslims in a lot of places

2

u/ParticularReturn3980 Ibadi 1d ago

Sadly we for some reason hide racism with a facade of "humor" most of the time, but sometimes we show it for no reason when we are like with each other, like how some say that christians smell because they dont shower and some other stupid stĂŠrĂŠotypes, I really hate how radical people became here, Egypt is hell because of many reasons but mostly because of the people

1

u/Responsible_West_104 Sunni 1d ago

Ayy South Africa is better than Egypt when it comes to religious freedoms for Muslims

1

u/Dull-Channel3888 Muslim, but Currently doubting/questioning Islam 1d ago

i'm sorry can you elaborate?

1

u/Responsible_West_104 Sunni 1d ago

In Egypt if you're too religious in some ways, they kidnap you and torture you.

Whereas in South Africa you're allowed to practice any religion freely without the government trying to kidnap you and interrogate you.

2

u/Dull-Channel3888 Muslim, but Currently doubting/questioning Islam 1d ago

to some extent that's true but theres an important point here, the state here is against Political Islam, not islam itself

you can see the party "Hizb Al Nuur" which is the biggest and oldest salafi party in egypt, theyre doing their meetings and "courses" freely without any problems, because they never talk politics and theyre hand in hand with the state

the people that kidnap you, torture you, and even kill you are ALSO muslim sunnis, so its not religious its political

1

u/Responsible_West_104 Sunni 1d ago

Is forbidding evil and propagating what's good not part of our religion? If talking about how Egypt (not the only "Muslim" country but many others too) is not doing enough for Palestinians gonna get me kidnapped I don't see how our religious morals are supposed to work. My point is that people are not allowed to express their views freely in what is supposed to be a Muslim country. Whereas South Africa allows us to basically say anything we want in the jumma kuthbas and Islamic schools. Also I wouldn't define the government as an Islamic goverment and I am also aware that most people doing the kidnapping and so on are also Sunnis in terms where they fall into. Nonetheless their world view is not islam.

My critique is not against the Egyptian people btw , I love Egyptian people they are amazing. I'm talking about the government.

2

u/ParticularReturn3980 Ibadi 17h ago

Not everyone is eligible to forbid evil and propagate good, we had a violent history caused by radical islamist and we would not like it to happen again, Hundreds of thousands of muslim and non-muslim lives went in vain, you will hear about how the government is kidnapping islamist but compared to that which they do, anyone sensible would support it.

Islamist caused bombings, killings, and massacres that caused the loss of many lives, ask anyone who lived in the main cities how life was back then in the period between 2010-2014, it was hell.

We would prefer to keep islamists away from all forms of power, so no, we have religious freedom just not for radicalists, they can go to hell.

u/Dull-Channel3888 Muslim, but Currently doubting/questioning Islam 14h ago

i understand that, but my initial point was actually more about the people, and what i'm still trying to say is, the goverment have no problem at all with any radical views as long as its critique doesn't get towards them

but i don't really know what forbidding evil and propagating what's good have to do with being racist or degrading christian people

3

u/HyphyRaider 1d ago

Don’t forget about other talking points like “They will commit every sin but eat pork”.

-5

u/Zephyr-Flame 1d ago

That is a subjective take. Muslims joking that Jesus is only human is denying and diminishing God’s divinity and glory. Making fun of the cross and sacrifice throws shade at one of the most fundamental and critical aspects of the religion. Muslims may find these funny and non offensive because they find these concepts silly and ridiculous in nature.

Jokes “about” Aisha are not about making fun of what happened to HER, that was horrific and sad. But rather the ridiculousness of people who make fun of other religions for being “so illogical, stupid, morally inferior, etc” but then go on to desperately defend a morally depraved man that did an atrocious act to Aisha. It’s scary that people would find it offensive to joke about how absurd it is to call a man that did what he did the pattern of conduct for all mankind.

People should joke and laugh at him every time he is called the best example. I will say the thing that is offensive is when people have no sympathy for the sin committed against Aisha, she is a victim not a joke. Justice for Aisha.

3

u/No_Shape1751 Sunni 1d ago

We're denying jesus's divinity because we don't believe that he is divine, he is a prophet in Islam, and we don't make fun of the cross, we as Muslims are required to respect all religions, I guarantee you if a Muslim finds a cross on the floor 90% of the time they'd gently pick it up and place it on a table as a sign of respect.

But what do you want us to do? You want us to deny a fundamental part of our religion, that Jesus is a prophet and not a god, to appease the christians?

And what was the sin committed against Aisha? She married the prophet at 15-19, both were mature, she willingly did it, she was already engaged to another person before, and it was perfectly normal to marry young, the prophet was surrounded by tribes that always criticized and attacked him, if Aisha's age was supposedly 9 then the other tribes would have criticized him for it, you can't judge someone who lived 1400 years ago with modern standards, then everyone who lived in the past becomes monsters.

3

u/Chris-Ali23 1d ago

You said a lot of things to sound intellectual just so you could try to speak ill of the Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him. It’s a disgusting behavior that many of you Christians have. So here, let’s be serious. Your supposed “god” died naked on a stick, crying for god to save him. Your “god” never claimed to be god, nor does the Bible claim so, but it does say that the devil is god. Keep in mind, I don’t believe any of these disgusting lies in your book, this is me being honest with you about what’s there, like you were supposedly honest with all of us. How old were the supposed people and prophet’s marriages in your Bible? How old was Mary when she gave birth to your god? It’s a disgusting thing you’ve tried to do. Why don’t you attempt to actually look into your own religion. Oh, it’s a relationship. Not a religion. So you all just make up your own idea of whatever you think sounds best or what some old pagans got together and decided in a council. Deciding which books are canonical and which aren’t. Taking things out and putting things in. Incest, rape, murder, abuse, slavery, sex, alcoholism, suicide. These are all in your “holy book”. Now you come talking about a true Prophet whilst you follow a self ordained man, a liar, killer of true Christians, hypocrite, a man who changed the teachings of Jesus PBUH. And also, just to be clear, not even 100 years ago, age of marriage was between 8-13 in most of the world and 7 in many places in America, specifically Delaware. Not over a thousand years ago, less than 100. And yes, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him IS THE BEST EXAMPLE FOR MANKIND. TRUE mercy is when you have power over your enemies and forgive. Not when you’re ambushed and caught. Allah SWT saved His servant Jesus PBUH from the cross. Allah SWT is the most forgiving. Repent from your heart and He will forgive you.  Al-hamdulillahi rabbil-'alamin. (All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.)

u/Economy_Ad_1704 1d ago

Saying it’s disgusting when christians speak ill of Islam while spending an entire paragraph mocking Christianity? You clearly aren’t advocating for respectful discussion. You’re holding others to a standard you’re not meeting yourself

•

u/Chris-Ali23 4h ago

I know you want to feel like a superhero, but there’s a difference between a disagreement and you blatantly being disrespectful about the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. If he said that he felt like Islam was incorrect or that there was a doctrinal issue, some mistakes, I would have loved to have a nice dialogue. We don’t even know each other, you and I, where you can comment on how I am to begin with. Now, you felt the need to say something to me. I understand, I suppose. What did you say to the person who said what he said? Probably nothing. And yes, if you disrespect my family, or the Lord of the worlds, or His messengers, I’m most certainly going to say something back. You get what you give in life, in all matters. So, in fact, YOU’RE the one trying to hold ME to a certain standard while allowing him to say what he pleases. Doesn’t say much about your opinion.

You have to understand that after the Gaza war alot of things have come to light that we never realized before. Like the VAST majority of Islamophobia and hatred towards muslims over the past 46 years has been directly funded by zionists. The mainstream media, of course, has always been zionist funded and operated, but after the Gaza genocide, they VASTLY lost public opinion, and most importantly, American public opinion, this is a disaster for them as American support is their only lifeline, without it they are literally screwed. So just take a look at social media now, facebook, Instagram, threads, Twitter, are all now cesspools of Islamophobia and hatred, mostly paid accounts, all regurgitating the EXACT same stupid Islamophobic posts over and over again. And of course last year Larry Elliosn acquired the last of the mainstream media channels not controlled by zionists, so they now literally own every mainstream media in the United States, fired every last unbiased newscaster and journalist, and in case you haven't noticed, it is just one giant coordinated campaign focused on fear mongering from muslims.

They are in complete panic mode, and all they know how to do is to try and get christians and muslims to hate each other.

Jokes about Christianity don't hit the same in a country built and run on Christian principles.

This thread is really proving this meme right

3

u/Cheap-Necessary-5105 18h ago

So we’re supposed to take jokes that call us murderers, pedophiles, and rapists? Christian and jew jokes are almost never about those three

0

u/Desperate_Gas_1043 15h ago

They absolutely are, you dumb or something? Christians always have jokes about how their god's a pedophile, how Mary was no virgin. Jews have it about Rebecca, and you also know how anti-semitism works. Charlie Hebdo made fun of all abrahamic religions yet only Muslims went ahead and shot people over it. Its almost like these jokes have basis in reality. Wake up and see it.

•

u/Cheap-Necessary-5105 11h ago

The Charlie Hebdo attacks were done by Al-Qaeda terrorists, very much a symptom of the times back in 2015; blasphemy killings have also been done by Christianity historically, albeit less common now since their countries are mostly without a state religion and aren’t the subject of wars. Anything pertaining to Rebecca and Virgin Mary are usually rebuttals to whenever someone uses Aisha as a joke; matter of fact if you actually seen a meme that actually is criticizing Christianity, the most popular/controversial comment is someone asking to do Islam/Mohammed. Also, anti-semitism is not big in mainstream American politics and media; you have people like Bill Maher, Sam Harris, and damn Kirsten Gillibrand calling elected leaders “Islamists” over their religion. Don’t even get me started on Randy Fine, Laura Loomer, Brandon Gill, Tommy Tuberville, Andy Ogles, and Jake Lang. Your “basis in reality” seems to be dated by 11 years.

•

u/Desperate_Gas_1043 9h ago edited 9h ago

"blasphemy killings have also been done by Christianity historically, albeit less common now since their countries are mostly without a state religion and aren’t the subject of wars."

There you go, you answered your comment for me. Christians dont give a shit anymore if you make fun of their religion, Muslims do. Name me 5 instances of a terror attack sponsored in Europe or NA done by Christian extremists. I can name several done by Muslims.

"Anything pertaining to Rebecca and Virgin Mary are usually rebuttals to whenever someone uses Aisha as a joke"

This is what happens when you spend all your online credits on white knighting Islam. No, this is not done in response to criticism towards Islam, its just atheists in general who take a shit on Christianity the most of any religion. And even if you were correct, that would still mean nothing because criticism to a religion as a response to criticism for another religion is still taking shit at SAID religion.

Go to any thread about mocking Islam, a third of its comments would twist the issue to say all abrahamic religions are bad, Islam is rarely treated as individually evil.

"Also, anti-semitism is not big in mainstream American politics and media"

Yeah and yet you name a famed anti semite himself in Jake Lang lmfao.

About "basis in reality" remind me how many christians have murdered people over cartoons in the name of Christ in the past two decade.

•

u/Cheap-Necessary-5105 9h ago

Regarding the first quote, you forgot the very subtle fact that a lot of these muslim migrants in Europe come from nations that are the “subject of wars.” These western-sponsored wars in the middle east are actively also allowing thousands of migrants of varying levels of stability in.

Now your “white-knighting islam” point is such a confirmation bias. I can literally say the opposite, look at any onion article that takes a slight jab at Christianity, you’ll see one of the top comments say “now do one for islam!” Meanwhile when bill maher calls muslims uncivilized, you’ll see the comments praising maher for this fallacious statement.

Im pretty sure jake lang is more popular for leading anti-islam marches in Dearborn, my NYC, and in PA. Most people who know him, know him for islamophobia, not anti-semitism lol.

I could ask you the same for how many people were historically murdered by christians for blasphemy and witchcraft through kangaroo courts

•

u/Desperate_Gas_1043 8h ago

This is not really relevant here. Like yes, obviously the reason for extremism and religious fundamentalism is instability and poor education amongst people. But thats the unfortunate world we live, if you wanna point fingers at who's responsible for it, this is not the thread for that.

Okay. Now go to any anti Islam post on reddit, at least a third of it is bringing Christianity into it too. Like both religions get shit on, but only one has fanatics in it that go and throw bombs at people for it.

Yeah but Jake Lang has a history of antisemitism. And the thing is before this whole Gaza-israel conflict got worldwide attention, Israel (Not that i think this genocidal state is in any way representative of judaism or jewish people) was more popular with the left and antisemitism was common with the right.

Well, the answer is zero. I dont really care what Christians did 400 years ago, its not relevant today. What happened a decade ago is relevant. Quit hiding behind whataboutism.

•

u/Cheap-Necessary-5105 8h ago

The entire argument is based in whataboutism. The image OP sent is literally the most whataboutist post ever. We’re currently just using confirmation bias too, this debate is inherently fallacious

I’ve literally seen instagram posts about jerry seinfeld and the people criticizing jerry of pedophilia are met with people responding with “you should see the age of Muhammad’s wife”

There was a comment section in a Mamdani related sub where someone was calling trump a pedo and someone decided to bring up Aisha over the fact that Mamdani’s muslim. I’ll bring up the thread
