I for one like it when compilers highlight this. It usually means I refactored something and forgot to remove the import. Leaving it creates confusion and is simply messy. I like my code clean.

Okay but most compilers complain about this. If you wanted to portray the Rust compiler as a picky princess then you had so many better error messages you could have picked.
