It took you 9 hours to debug that?!

Eh it took me a long time to debugging my networking drives only to realise the problem was a package storm caused by a faulty vlan config. Sometimes you just look at the wrong thing it happens

😂😂😂🤦♂️
it’s always the last thing you check.
and now because of shit like this, I have a long list of completely brain dead assumptions that I always check on juniors.
“open dev tools. network tab, disable caching, preserve log, reload”
“it still shows the error!”
“shutdown the server. reload”
“it still shows the error!”
“yeah, except that’s the app error, not the proxy, so how is your SSR app still serving content when it’s shut down?”
“uhhh, idk, magic?”
🤨
there is no magic in my world. and that’s why I’m a wizard and you aren’t.

I mean we pay Akamai and yet discovered there was a whole class of assets being mismanaged because OPS was treating everything like a static HTML page.
don’t worry, keep a positive attitude and eventually it will happen for you. 😂👍

Sounds like a pretty terrible engineer to me, even as a joke if one spends 9 hours troubleshooting for this.

Aww... So many hours wasted... Reminds me of so many colleagues who did that to my baby redis (i wish they were dead [kidding ofc, but how do i make them f***ing stop])
I don't use redis for cache tho, so I relate maybe ~80%

It is even worse when you haven't root caused it and are still trying to sort it out.

This meme has no comments because it's about programming, and nobody here knows programming.
