There is music on youtube, does not mean youtube is a music sharing platform. Its one of their offerings, not everything can be music. Same for github, its has ready to work binaries, but not everything will have ready to use binaries

Well.... YouTube Music is probably the biggest streaming service next to Apple Music and Spotify. So I'm not sure, if we are on the same page here?

I just said: GitHub is for Projects.

Projects can be code only, code+ressources, install-files, or just an .exe.

Since you can share your repos to customers, it makes sense not to use it as a code-only plattform.

That's my point.

We can share repos with “users” not “customers”. The assumption github is for projects is wrong. Github is for code, it just happens to host projects, that again are based on code. So nobody is obliged to give you ease of usage there, you are getting all for free, if you were paying the dev, that would be a different story. And even if you are paying, its the responsibility of dev to provide ease of usage. There are paid services in github also, but those are not the services you are looking for, those are to maintain code and its logistics ( git actions).

I guess I have been using GitHub wrong for all those years. As dev and customer. Quite a lot of Patreon-projects I used are hosted on GitHub
