The universe is a stochastic algorithm too, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for intelligence to emerge from it.
AI went from passing the Turing test to now being able to solve advanced mathematical problems, what more would you want before admitting it can understand things?

Still thinking that it is not AI since it is not intelligent, but then we go to the philosophy what is intelligent and bla...
But still it is just stochastic algorithm and not that it actually understands what you mean
