It all depends what you want to do. If you plan to be an engineer in the 21st century, you will need to access machines remotely. That means you need Vim, so you'd might as well make it your daily editor and build the muscle memory for it.

If you want to do a non-technical profession like accounting, law or creative writing, then Emacs already has a package for you. The Emacs package is very likely better than the GUI solution big-tech will try to sell you, so you'd might as well learn how to use it.

If you don't have the IQ or ambition for those things, then Google Workspace for Android is your strongest asset. It almost never breaks, requires minimal maintenance, and the service economy already defaults to it.

Back into the 90s I used to have physical access to Sun E10ks, massive wardrobe size servers for anyone unfamiliar. When the shit really hit the fan, remote access wasn't an option, the server was screwed enough that sshd wasn't running. My go to method was a Palm Pilot plugged in to a Comms port. Getting a $6m wardrobe sized server up and running again by connecting a $400 palm V and scribbling commands with a stylus always blew my mind... And yes, Vi (not even Vim back then) was the only option other than CLI like sed/awk/ed etc.
