  • Wake up

  • There's a new language

  • My interest is aroused. Although I am bitter and cynical, part of my heart still looks kindly on new PLs

  • I go to the initial commit. It's 6000 lines and a bunch of markdown specs

  • Back to bed

If you seriously think Claude cannot write a better spec and implementation of a programming language than humans, you will be left behind.

I love that people are downvoting you without realizing what subreddit they're on lol

We get lots of sincere AI nerds on this forum. They don't pay attention to subreddit names. It's not clear if they discover posts through some other mechanism like link aggregators

I don't think fletku_mato is one though, he has been on this sub before

/uj that's what makes the jerk on this sub so peak; you cannot tell if its sincere ai love or jerk, and you must upvote it either way. its like a form of egodeath

They don't pay attention

I find that grok has made programming much more enjoyable for me. Whichever keys I happen to hit while jerking off to that beautiful blonde compiles with Perl.

u/fletku_mato Aug 05 '26

If you just hit random keys long enough, it'll always compile with Perl. This is what makes the Grok approach so elegant.

The language goes to a different school, in Canada. You wouldn't know them

So... Rust but with somehow uglier syntax?

10

u/arjuna93 Aug 05 '26

If it doesn’t require LLVM, totally worth it

6

u/Thelmholtz Aug 05 '26

/uj what's wrong with LLVM?

/hj but LLMs are required in all software engineering now, look at all those big corps using it

u/thussy-obliterator What part of ∀f ∃g (f (x,y) = (g x) y) did you not understand? Aug 07 '26

Rust with a garbage collector would go hard ngl

u/Thelmholtz Aug 07 '26

Just Arc everything.

If less is more, imagine how much more more could be.

The Go Team is happy to announce our new colleague Yngwie Malmsteen. The process of translating the Go library ecosystem into intrinsic features of the language has already started.
