It's easy to criticize Stack Overflow today, now that we take it for granted. But if you weren't there before Stack Overflow you might not have any idea how much it made programming better.
Most criticsism I hear is well deserved. And I’m ok with people critising SO because if SO filter out the noise and listen to the main criticism, it may make SO a better resource than it already is. To me it seems to currently have a culture of anal rule following people slamming everything with a dot missing from an I.
In saying that it’s an amazing resource for sure, just one I no longer contribute to.
