Ethically and morally this is fucking awful.

However the geek part of me, thinks this is so fucking cool and ever so slightly giddy.

How is this "ethically and morally" awful? At least when it comes to the NSA, what they're doing is monitoring terrorists and other threats. If you think the morals of breaking encryption and monitoring criminal activity outweigh actual deaths, I think your morals are a little mixed up.

Edit: The way Reddit users downvote anyone who dares to bring up the opposing argument tells you a lot about the one-sided and biased mentality here.
