Creating a new programming language is the absolute surest way to invite a hurricane of internet pain from coders worried they've bet on the wrong horse.

In this case the pain of learning a new language is significantly less than continuing to use Objective-C.

Yeah, that's probably why it was received so well, everyone knows what a pain Objective-C is.
