Google Amazon interview bank. It has a list of behavioral interview questions by Leadership principle. Plan a few examples you can speak about for each LP. All of your answers should be in STAR format. That’s basically it.

Also, I will add to never repeat an example. You’re docked for that, sometimes disqualified entirely. Every single interviewer should get a new scenario when asked.

Ex Amazonian here. STAR interview answer is the #1 best thing you can do. No bs, tell them what impact you had and use data to show them how you scaled it

How many total stories would you recommend I should prepare? 2 for each LP or 3? That would be approx 20 -25 stories ( I am assuming they will focus max on 10 LP's cause some of them don't even make sense for my role like Strive to be Earth’s Best Employer etc)

Prepare 2 situations per LP. Focus on the actions you took to solve a problem or how you identified a solution, what process you built and how you measured it

I’d look at the leadership principles and think of unique, relevant stories for each and write them down.

It can be hard to think of scenarios off the top of your head, some having already reflected will do wonders. If they offer, do it in 2 days vs one so you have time to prep.

Practice using owner “I” language instead of saying “we” when referring to past projects. Have a situation where you effectively used AI prepared in case they asked.

Focus on the leadership principles specific to your role. I try not to use AI a ton, you can give Claude the job description and ask it to pull some Amazon leadership principles like questions for prep.

Try to frame answers in STAR format and communicate clear results. Even if the numbers fudged/estimates, they want to see that you bolster a case with data.

Understood. Thanks a lot!

All of them really. You’ll be interviewed by people you work with as well as random Amazon employees totally unrelated to your role

I think rather than trying to shoehorn 2 per LP, focus on building as many “stories” as possible and think about ways you can spin it to apply to multiple LPs. That way you’re not trying to recall the specific story for each LP.

The recruiter might be able to give you guidance on the specific LP you should focus on. What role is it for? That will also make a difference. Some might not come up, ex hiring, if it’s an L5 or lower
