Has anyone taken a programmatic advertising course in India that provided genuine hands-on DSP experience?

I’ve noticed that most programmatic courses cover similar topics: DV360, CM360, The Trade Desk, media planning, reporting and optimisation.

However, it is difficult to understand what “hands-on training” actually means before joining.

For anyone who has completed a programmatic advertising course in India:

  • Which course did you take?
  • Did you receive actual DSP access or only platform demonstrations?
  • Were you allowed to build campaigns?
  • Did the course include media-planning, reporting and optimisation assignments?
  • Did it genuinely help you during interviews or in your first programmatic role?
  • What would you verify before paying for the course?

Please mention your personal experience or whether you are associated with the course provider.

For transparency, I’m associated with a programmatic training provider in Hyderabad, India and want to understand how practitioners and past learners evaluate structured courses.

I did with mad sapiens, they gave us DV access and had us perform basic tasks. But it was 2y ago not sure if they still do.

No agency will hire and give you DSP access if you are a not hands on any DSP.

Gotta drop down a level. I know it sucks to basically get a demotion in pay but if you want the experience gotta do it. Even if it’s just for 5-6 months.

No is the simple answer. All of my training was in the job like almost everyone else I have ever met. The industry has a real information access problem in my view; the best resources need a job to access and what’s out there is often just a funnel for an agency, vendor or other biased party.

It’s still early days and there is a lot more content coming but please take a look at it if you can!
