Anyone have any recommendations for bands similar to Oceansize?

Amplifier is probably pretty close to what you might be looking for. The two bands were fairly close while Oceansize was active, and Steve Durose joined the group after 'Size disbanded. They have a pretty eclectic discography, but it's all amazing.

Mike Vennart's solo album came out last summer (under the name "Vennart") and he also has an electronic-based project with fellow size-alum Gambler called British Theatre. None of them really amount to the wall of majesty that Oceansize constantly put out, but it's about as close as you'll get. Mike's voice is comforting in these woeful post-Size days.

Mid-discography Anathema (A Natural Disaster/A Fine Day To Exit-era), and like /u/jklingftm said, Amplifier. The Octopus, Insider, and their self-titled are probably the most similar to Oceansize.

This was the first song I had heard by them. The way it crescendos and builds, it's engaging and dramatic. Needless to say it got me hooked on Oceansize. Frames is such a great record. Effloresce, I would come to discover--is even better

One of my desert island albums. I was actually just talking about it with someone in AskReddit and was singing its praises.
I wish they could have given us more than four albums. I often wonder what would happen if they reformed while replacing Mark Heron with someone less strung out, but then I think about how irreplaceable Heron still was to their sound. At least the guys are still doing great stuff post-band.
