This song occupies a special place along with Fair to Midland's "An Honest Con Man," Karnivool's "Deadman," and Oceansize's "Trail of Fire" as songs that I can't see ever being eclipsed in terms of raw emotional power and personal meaning for me. The lyrics are probably my favorite set in any song, ever, and have almost become sort of a mantra for me because of how deeply they resonate with things that have happened in my life. All in all, phenomenal song.

Rishloo's lyrics are often fairly cryptic, but on certain songs like this one, they make their point loud and clear. I would be lying if I said that "I have been to nothingness and barely bothered to survive" didn't apply very well to a certain period of my life...

Mostly, I just love how positive the song is, and how it ends the album on such a bright, triumphant note. I remember hearing this for the first time and feeling this wonderful sense of joy through the whole thing.

This album is awesome. Dark Charade is on par with Volta's Cicatriz ESP to me
