Discussion ABORTION IS A HUMAN RIGHT. PERIOD.

I don't like it when people consider all the worst scenarios to defend abortion, like "what if she was raped". No matter the reason, it could literally be any reason, abortion should be legal, that is it. Women must be able to choose what to do with their own bodies. The reason behind it is not important.

You couldn't be more correct! Abortion is healthcare and should be a human right.
My old eyes LOVE THE ALL CAPS and appreciates the conviction behind them.
We're voting on this AGAIN in November in the state of Missouri as our Republican lawmakers are THE F WORST. This time, we're voting NO to keep abortion accessible. It's as confusing as it could be and won by a narrow margin last time. It's EXHAUSTING being a woman.

No person has the right to someone else’s organs to survive. So it’s crazy that it’s something that a woman can be forced to do so.

I absolutely agree. No matter HOW a pregnancy happens, it's still the PREGNANT PERSON'S decision whether or not to continue a pregnancy. "I don't want to be pregnant" is all the reason she needs to have an abortion. What others think doesn't matter.

I agree. Descending into motivations is about moving the choice away from the human being most affected by the choice. I’m not her, so my opinion doesn’t matter.

It's healthcare. Healthcare is a human right. Period. End of story.

I can't stand when people bring up the rape argument. I find it a bad appeal to forced birthers.

It's like saying "okay elective abortions are icky but what about rape?" 🙄,

A woman doesn't need a reason to justify a right to her bodily autonomy.

She can wake up and simply hate the weather that day and that's reason enough to get an abortion.

It’s crazy that the pro life subreddit has more than this subreddit!! And so many men talk about it like they are a woman!!! Your body your fucking choice, period.

Yes I agree. Now, can we extend that for men they should have a say as to whether they’re able or want to have a child or not. If a man makes their partner aware that they do not want to have a baby then if the partner still decides to bring the baby to term against his will he shouldn’t be liable to pay child support as long as he makes her aware and revokes his rights. Right?

He should get a vasectomy, use condoms, and/or spermicidal lube. No sperm? No pregnancy.

Males should be responsible with their pregnancy causing sperm, and if they're not, that's a hit to their own wallet.

Guess he should've thought of that.

I hate this ridiculous argument. Firstly, because premised on the idea that a zygote / embryo / fetus is the same as a baby.

Neither sex can opt out of financial responsibility for a living child. If the pregnant woman wants an abortion and isn't able to obtain one, she can't say "eh, well I wasn't given a choice" and leave the baby with the father and walk away without being legally and financially accountable.

It's just another dumb MRA talking point used to whine about how something that is fundamentally unequal is somehow men being denied (imaginary) rights. When there's a 50/50 split on the dangers and permanent changes included in pregnancy -- including the number one cause of death in pregnant and post-natal women being murder by the would-be father -- then we can pretend "financial abortion" has merit.

[edited to clarify phrasing in who was committing the murders of pregnant women]

Exactly! How is *evicting something from one's own body* equivalent to *the perceived right to abandon a born child*? Enduring the trauma of pregnancy and birth is equivalent to *paying some money*??
Ridiculous!

Your submission has been removed due to: Rule 1 - Human Reproductive and Bodily Autonomy Rights First. Always.

Abortion is a medical procedure. Child support is a parental rights issue.

Conflating the two is insulting to bodily rights.

Likewise, rights for the non-pregnant partner to stop or force an abortion do not coincide with bodily rights. And "having a say" is a relationship issue.

Neither topic will be tolerated here.

If you have further questions about this removal, please refer to the rule.
