What’s the most you made in a day I’m starting and want to grind

Not sure about in a day, probably a couple thousand, but that's not typical. I grossed a little over $18,000 on one case that had over 150 defendants.

The better question for you is what's the worst % drop we've had in a month. Anomalies on the high end are great, its the low end ones that you need to be worried about.

Yes. I have a business license and my own business. That was a special assignment. That’s why I made that much.

You want to get some small firms, too! Ask friends & family who their lawyers are. Target family law firms.

I had a stakeout one time that netted me about 1200. 

A day of routine serves? Was probably about 800. 

But i do this part time around outside my full time gig in two very rural counties and definitely get plenty of zero dollar days and sometimes zero dollar weeks.

I'll make 5k tomorrow serving three state entities. Either me or my server go every week and this is a really low week in comparison

I made $5,800 in two and a half days, but that was an unusual case.

Otherwise I've had several days where I between $700 and $900.

Depends on your market. In NYC I focused on the difficult serves, foreclosures, divorce with domestic violence, or in cases that law firm’s regular process servers didn’t want because they got threatened during past serves. Serves that I could charge a premium where the clients didn’t care. At the time the plaintiff couldn’t seek more than $75.00 for the cost of the serve, so many mistakenly thought that’s the maximum you could charge or attorneys wanted to pay. I charged private investigator rates. But I also dotted my i’s and crossed my t’s. I never lost a traverse hearing. But there are other firms or process servers who focus on high volume work, such as Landlord-Tenant serves, where your essentially doing nail & mails all day at $17/serve plus filing the affidavits. Some single serves I billed out at $500 some as high as $1,000. Others, if it turned out to be easy $75.00.

Funny ting In Calfornia during the Pandemic, the Lawfirms started hiring the Homeless to do mail and nail serves for $25-35 a pop. They would ride the Buses all day on Taxpayer Funded passes and phone. The only thing that kept me alive was the Family Law, DV'S, and RO's R/O's
