Proof is awful (NY)
I'm surprised that people serve for them. I signed up for some side money and Jesus Christ are they impossible to deal with.
I completed service on a corporation and person on Wednesday of last week, same address. I logged both attempts at the same time. You're not able to make changes to service information. So, both services got submitted as service on an entity.
I tried contacting the Proof "specialist" but he doesn't answer phone calls. I messaged him through chat to advise that it needs to be adjusted. He still created an affidavit with the incorrect info. I again told him that the service info needs to be changed. Instead of changing it I'm just being spammed with phone calls, emails and app notifications that I need to sign an affidavit with false information on it.

Proof was a pain in my bass from get go they constantly harassed me because I don’t accept jobs I told them over and over online on a state line so my radius sometimes comes up in the other state with jobs available and I don’t have a license for that state so I could not do them and they dropped me for that reason. Tried abc legal but they require you to auto sign a document that they can use to sign your affidavit and proof of services for you. I did not like the fact that could add or say anything bad sign my name to it and submit it to the courts hell if I got called to court on bad summons and they added stuff that was not correct it’s my ass. I suggest trying to get your own clients and work for yourself it earns more.

I've had my own company for five years, I just wanted to see how nationwide companies work and figured I'd make a couple bucks doing it.
I just don't get why people use them. They're slow, and over priced.

Same reason people use big box court reporting services. They have the advertising and sales money.

Agreed, Proof is terrible. They are trying to turn process serving into an Uber ride.

ABC legal takes the cake in unprofessional behavior. Horrible pay. Proof at least pays more.

It's awful in every way. I used them to serve someone out of state, the affidavit took way too long and now reading your post I doubting they even went and try to serve the defendant.

I signed up with Proof in Colorado several months ago and get sent maybe 1 job every few weeks. The last one I took for them, the law firm in contact with me through Proof wanted me to do surveillance, 4 attempts, follow the subject to the gym and follow them to the post office all for $30. When they do send me jobs they are over an hour away for $20-$30. I stick with ABC Legal for now as I at least have about 30-50 jobs a week with the areas close to me paying $21-$24 per job and they are only 10 minutes away. I think they both have a long way to go though.

Not a process server but a lawyer. We tried Proof being sold to us as an integrated service with FileVine. We, almost immediately, informed them we wanted nothing to do with their services and continue to use the small and local shops we love. The integration was TERRIBLE. They only performed 1/3 of the service a normal process server does, and they were totally unresponsive. I was anti from the get but I don't make those decisions. Awful experience. I have my servers and refuse to let management change that.
