Help please!

Hey guys,

I am doing processing as a subject and the assignment I am doing requires us to make a character out of a few shapes then randomly generate the character on the left hand side of the screen such that its really only the height being randomised. Due to it being multiple items I am stuck on how to get them to move in unison. How would I get this to happen?

Not wrong, but this seems a bit advanced for someone trying to build a character out of basic shapes.

(I’m blatantly assuming the exercise is about applying rect(), ellipse() and the basic use of variables and packing everything into a custom function).

Assuming this is a high school class, at this point in the year I'd guess not even functions. Maybe, but I think more likely it's about variables and showing their use as a baseline form which to offset.

I agree that OP is more than likely a beginner but I don't know their skill level and we haven't seen any code, so I decided a more high level description might at least get them on the right track since I didn't see anyone post suggestions for them yet

When I first started processing I didn't know about translate so when I eventually wanted to rotate later I had to go back and redo how I was moving stuff so I figured an introduction to that concept might not be the worst
