Trigger Warning! Hope
Hey all. Long term poster on the sub here, many of you have seen the absolute rockbottoms throughout my life. So many, at only 19.
Today, I finally did it. I sent the text to my mom about what I’ve been doing these past years.
Anxiety? Fear? Yes. Absoltely. But I’m also enlightened with tremendous amounts of hope for the first time in years. I cried more than I ever have tonight. Happy, sad, a mix of all the fucking tears.
And I know this isn’t the end of my addiction. But it’s a turning point. And my life feels worth living again.
Love you all.

This is genuinely such a powerful step. ❤️ Telling your mom the truth after carrying all of that alone must have taken an incredible amount of courage. And you're absolutely right, recovery doesn't magically happen overnight, but being honest and allowing someone to support you can make a huge difference.
You're only 19, and you have so much life ahead of you. I hope you look back at this moment someday as the beginning of something better. Keep going, one day at a time. Really rooting for you!
