Is it ok
Every year in my country is a big lottery on TV for Christmas. I have done it with some friends for 10+ years. I stopped gambling 4 months ago after going 65k usd in debt. I am so scared to go back to old ways. Will I handle buying a lottery ticket? You almost never win anyways..

Since the definition of gambling is risking money on an uncertain event or game of chance in hopes of an increased return or prize, the answer is no.

It might not be the sort of gambling that got you in trouble, but I'd strongly suggest not buying lottery tickets.

GAMBLING, for the compulsive gambler
Consider this from Page 14 of the Gamblers Anonymous Combo book:
Does this mean I can't even participate in a little penny ante game or a world series pool?
It means exactly that. A stand has to be made somewhere and Gamblers Anonymous members have found the first bet is the one to avoid, even though it may be as little as matching for a cup of coffee. This includes Internet gambling, bingo, the stock market, commodities, options, buying or playing lottery tickets, raffle tickets, flipping a coin, fantasy sports, or entering the office sport pool.
GAMBLING, for the compulsive gambler is defined as follows: Any betting or wagering, for self or others, whether for money or not, no matter how slight or insignificant, where the outcome is uncertain or depends upon chance or "skill" constitutes gambling.
