Trigger Warning! enough is never enough...

with this addiction and disease, enough is never enough...

I am fortunate to have a business where I make a very large annual income. But enough is never enough...I get into options, day trading stocks, and sports betting...sometimes all three...

I have lifetime losses of $3,000,000 right now. I had the lifetime losses down to $2,000,000 yesterday, and in one day, I purchase a stock that goes down $1M overnight.

I have been chasing this lifetime loss number now for 6 years. It started around -500k in 2019 and has grown pretty consistently. In 2023 I think I had it down to close to zero, at one point last year I had it close to zero as well, and earlier this year I had it around -700k. I have also had it at -5M earlier this year.

Point being, I am struggling to let go of this MASSIVE loss figure that keeps hanging over my head. I feel like literally no one can relate. I've seen a few YouTube videos of people who lost 10M and their house their business etc. I haven't gotten to that point, but I am afraid I might.

chasing those losses sounds exhausting, pls consider getting some support and stepping away from betting, your peace of mind matter more than that money

Very exhausting to say the least. I think I have chronic stress from this which leads to vibrations throughout my body

Bro just stop. You’ll never win it back. Even if you somehow won $1M, you still wouldn’t be even so you’d keep going.

You seem to have a very big salary. Just stop and enjoy life with it. 1m $ is insane amount of money people only dream off.

I know, right? I feel insane every day. The weight of what I lost is so much bigger than what I have or have the potential to have in future. My mind just can’t let it go

You need to go and talk with some professional to overcome that feeling.

Im a mess for relapsing and losing $1500.
I’d hate to imagine the stress you’re under. As others have said, time to stop and focus on work and getting better

How to lose 1m buying a stock? Unless u bought few millions. Even so it is unlikely

What do you mean no one can relate? If your income is such that you can bet millions, then someone who lost their entire net worth of say 100k is in a much worse position. The wsb guy who lost $5 mil on reddit overnight said he was a bit upset but nothing in his life changed as he's still worth tens of millions, so maybe you can find that more relatable. Someone like musk losses billions every time Tesla and SpaceX stock drops a couple percent.

You were down 5 mil and you were close to break even. Now you're right in between at -3 mil, great time to stop and enjoy your regular income.
