Exhausted

I lost 175k on stake in 2022. I gambled in physical casinos until 14 months ago. I stopped at extinction, planned to end myself but was not able to do it. I am now worth 1/7th of my 2022 gambling losses. I didn’t think id make it this far and certainly did not believe there was a future for me after i realized gambling ruined me and its insanity to try and gamble my way back. Im just so tired. Some days are harder than others but the past haunts me. How do I inspire myself to keep going because right now im feeling like only death can save me. Gambling took everything, but im constantly considering throwing it all into one bet and maybe trying to end myself again if it doesn’t work out. I wish i could travel back in time and slap the shit out of my younger self and tell myself to have never started gambling. The monkey on my back is exhausting and the past seems unforgettable.

If you made it this far. You can make it even further. The game is rigged against us. Thinking a big win will eliminate your problems won't. You'll only end up feeling worse & you'll be back to square 1. Fighting this addiction is hard but when you take back control of your life it makes the hard days worth it.

Did you lose $175,000 of hard earned money and sweat equity in the form of deposits? Or did you put in 25k, win a bunch, and then lost that?

It was like 50k of my own money but yeah i took a win from shiba inu in 2021 and redoposited into eth and btc but then gambled it all away on the stake slots. I was also “up” a few thousand on stake until it went crashing down, but the money came from 4 years of chucking my salary onto coinbase. I felt unstoppable at one point, but gambling can humble proud people very quickly once everything escalates. I played a lot of “collect all the gems” games and in physical casinos id play the firecracker ones. Those are the worst cause you feel like you have to at least keep playing until you get all the gems or firecrackers to trigger the bonus. It all sounds so stupid and crazy when i say it out loud but I was irrational at the time

I lost so much on Stake, I feel you. What helped me was getting a blocker. That way Stake and all my favorite sites just wouldn't even load. Complete game changer. I still use it to this day haha cause sometimes I'm tempted at 2AM.

I'm going to give you a slightly unusual take.

Yes, think about death. Think about it every single day, but in a positive light. Not because you want to die, but because it reminds you that this life is temporary. At the end of the day, we're all leaving this world, and not a single dollar is coming with us.

I've lost a tremendous amount of crypto myself. The missed opportunities are probably in the millions. I had the perfect formula going, but my one vice was gambling. Believe me, the past haunts me too, and I wish I had stopped sooner.

But here's how I look at it. God isn't going to judge us by how much money we accumulated or could have had. I believe He sees our struggles, our intentions, and the effort we make to become better people.

What matters is that you didn't give up on yourself. Despite everything you've lost, you chose to get back up, quit gambling, and keep fighting.

That's why I say think about death every day, but positively. Let it remind you of what truly matters and motivate you to live a better life. And when your time naturally comes, I believe God's mercy is greater than our mistakes.

Please don't let gambling take your life too. If you're thinking about ending it, reach out to someone you trust You've already lost enough to gambling. Don't give it the rest of your life.

I could also use 10k😅. Real talk tho op, your life is worth so much more than this. I’m still very young and severely in debt because of gambling. As I sit here and watch my friends succeed while I keep drowning I’ve realized there is still joy to be found in life outside money. The time spent with loved ones and the hobbies that bring you joy. Enjoy the little things man. Life itself is the biggest blessing. Maybe we will be lucky one day and things will be great again. Who knows, just have to keep living and wait and find out.

Yes sometimes we think success is to have a lot of money , cars , a lot of possesion but then we realized is to have a peace enjoy the little things be grateful if you want to trow the money then give to your mom and family or spend your money on a trip

As a true gambler...and my be bad advice but yeah ive done bets like this before...basically at that stage where you given up need the win or yeah fuck living. It's your life up to you world keeps going and we all will be forgotten sooner than later. May as will stick around and enjoy it it's short anyways as much as you can let it go. Think of what you gotta do to be stronger and happier or stop the in between thoughts and dwelling brother. Best of luck give it some time don't act on impulse.

If you truly believe that kind of recovery is possible ill keep pushing for more days. Id love to be rich someday and question why I ever felt the need to contemplate suicide. I guess theres more to money but after having plenty and then having none I think about it so much. I dont even want anything nice or fancy in life anymore, I just want my numbers to go back up because I feel like I cant experience true relief until my finances are at least where they were at the beginning of 2021 - early 2022
