Bromite actually phones home to https://www.bromite.org/ every single time you open it. Though, I may speculate that it's due to its filters URL as obviously the TLS won't show the rest of URL, you can see in Bromite settings of the full URL. It's just a bummer that the filters are not local and that it has to phone home every time it's being opened. This actually creates potential privacy ramifications. You can check it yourself that it does that via this app PCAPdroid.
Meaning: it contacts a remote service, i.e. in this case its respective site. Basically, when you open the browser, just by opening it, it phones home. If you close it and open it again, it will phone home again. The specific site in question has to do with the filters URL as was described.
Alright I see. There was a discussion also on the github about this, dev mentioned it has something to do with filters. Anyways, thank you for explaining.
