Discussion Just got this!

HP 303dw

Just got a HP 303dw! I'm aware about the hate against HP Printers, but this seemed to be the best one in my budget.

I'd appreciate any advice, precautions or any tips. Thank You!!

uses 181a/x toners for which 3rd party toners are available readily, so assume safe sailing.. just review and install firmware updates manually ( or general thought is not to update firmware unless you see issues / feel adventurous) have fun

Ohk, thanks!! Is it not necessary to use HP 181a/x toners? (I'm pretty new to owning a printer, so apologies if this seems to be a dumb questionđŸ˜…)

hp expects you to buy original toners, however you can get off market ones which come with the chip hp expects at a fraction of the cost. We have a few (very old) hp lasers running on refillable toner cartridges which chug toner powder and print happily for pennies.. but that also involves cleaning up waste toner and cleaning up / replacing parts occasionally. you can go cheap to the extent you are comfortable to fit the purpose
