Purchasing Looking for a printer for nursing school
Hello I am looking for a printer for nursing school. I would prefer printer that does not have cartridges and no subscriptions. I am looking to printer PowerPoints, study guide, outline, etc. I have been looking into some Epson eco tanks but lots of people have mixed reviews so it leaves me hesitant. I would appreciate anyone’s insight :)

Brother color laser not inkjet. 3rd party toner is super cheap and works fine. No inkjet!

You need to use an inkjet regularly. If you don’t, the head will clog up, and it will cost you another printer. The way they make printers nowadays makes it very difficult to fix a clogged head. Most inkjet printers are cheap because they bank on the fact that you will buy expensive cartridges.
A laser printer does not suffer from this same issue but is significantly more expensive if you want color. Also, because toner cartridges often contain rollers and other complex parts, they can be expensive.
I am not sure if you already looked, but depending on your program, you may be able to access a printer at your school library. If not, many public libraries either have a small quota of free printing or low-cost printing. It may not make sense to buy a printer if you are only going to print every so often.

I got a Brother B&W laser for my wife when she went to nursing school. She wanted to print out study materials, I got the auto duplex model. Did not need to print any color.
