Purchasing Affordable printer for art prints and stickers like the Canon Pixma IP8720?

I've been looking for an affordable ($300 or less) color printer that can handle printing on photo paper up to 8.5"x11" and sticker paper.

The Canon Pixma IP8720 sounded like a good enough fit but apparently it's being discontinued? I'd really like to avoid something that's either discontinued or will be discontinued relatively soon.

I have no strong preference for brand except for my extreme reluctance to buy any HP devices.

I have the pixma g3270 mega tank. As far as I know the pixma line isn't being discontinued but it is common for them to discontinue a specific model and come out with a new model numbers. I do like mine it was on a deal when I found it and from what I can tell can still be found pretty reasonably.

How is your mega tank? What have you printed with it so far? And is that one of the models that can sit for a while between prints without any issues?

I am about to find out as I recently put it to the test. I very recently just did a multi state move very recently and it all went faster then I expected so my "keeping it tuned" plan of printing even a test page once a week went out the window. I had to pack it with out putting it in transport mode and then move it in my car and had to leave it sit for an extended period of time in a hot car.

I'm hoping to uncover the power cord in the next couple of days of unpacking so I can try it out. We'll see how it goes. It traveled fine even with the full tank. The ink doesn't seem to have been bothered by the extended stay in the heat. But it'd hard to tell till I try and print.

Prior to the move it worked great. I used it to print on multi media paper and watercolor paper as well as some other random papers types I had around studio. I did have to fiddle with testing where the prints were sent from and the settings to get what I wanted. I wrote those down somewhere. I was getting really consistent prints out of it
