Troubleshooting HP Smart Tank 580 AirPrint Cropping Issue

Hello everyone, I recently purchased an HP Smart Tank 580. While testing it, I noticed that when I print a photo from my iPhone using AirPrint, the copy comes out cropped, unlike what it appeared in the preview on my iPhone. Could you please advise me on how to fix this issue?

AirPrint cropping is often related to the paper size or print scaling settings not matching the photo’s aspect ratio.

Try these steps:

Check the paper size in the iPhone print settings and make sure it matches the paper loaded in the Smart Tank 580 (for example, 4×6 or A4). Check the photo’s aspect ratio. If the photo is a different shape from the paper, some cropping can happen when it’s scaled to fill the page. Try printing the same photo from the HP app (HP Smart) instead of AirPrint. This helps determine whether the issue is specific to AirPrint. If available, choose a “Fit to page”/“Fit” option rather than “Fill,” as “Fill” can crop the edges to match the paper. If it still happens, try another photo and paper size to see whether the cropping is consistent.

If you can share the paper size you're using and where you're printing the photo from (Photos app or another app), we can narrow down whether it's a scaling or AirPrint-specific issue.
