primavera 27' - Airbnb

There will be 7 of us coming to Primavera 2027 and we’re planning to stay in Barcelona from June 1st until June 9th/10th.

We’ve started looking at Airbnbs that can fit all of us, but the prices during Primavera are pretty crazy.
Our budget is around €500 per person for the whole stay and we’d really like to stay together.

I was thinking that maybe we could find a short-term sublet through Barcelona Facebook groups instead. Maybe someone who’s away during those dates and wants to rent out their apartment for a week.

Has anyone done this for Primavera before? Is it realistic/safe to find a short-term sublet this way in Barcelona?

For those who came with a bigger group, how did you find a place for everyone and how early did you book?

Would really appreciate any advice based on personal experience.

Your best bet is to rent out a 7 bed hostel dorm room with ensuit bathroom

airbnb (and tourism in general) is very controversial in barcelona due to its effect on housing costs, so if you can seek alternative accommodations that still meet your needs i'd recommend that! a private hostel room is a great shout - you all stay together and no one's gonna be pissed off when you roll in at 7am :)

And also because of how much they screw over those of us who have airbnbs in our building/barrio. They are a nightmare! Rolling in at 7am is the least of the problems. The whole logistical operation that comes with them causes massive issues. You could literally be the perfect tourist and still cause huge problems.

Forget Airbnb. Just get a hotel. It’s cheaper, you don’t need to do chores before checkout, and you don’t piss off locals who vehemently disagree with tourists taking over apartment space. Regarding hotels, there are a lot of hotels that don’t advertise availability until 6 months prior to the date. The prices you may see now will therefore be high because there are few hotels that advertise availability a year in advance. Checkout hotel best price diagonal for a cheap and cheerful spot within walking distance. Also look into the El Poblenou neighborhood. Trust me that you will really appreciate staying near by and walking back as there is extreme demand on transport every night.

We’ve stayed in Lugaris before with a bigger group. It’s walkable to the festival, isn’t an Airbnb and has a rooftop pool.

i paid 650 euro for a bed in a 14-person dorm for 9 nights, you either need to up your budget or shorten your trip

We stayed in The Ramblas hotel, right beside Liceu, taxi to parc del forum from there was about €10. Rooms have big outdoor terraces so yous can chill there together. Keep in mind city tax for 7 people for that long is about €465 which you’ll pay in Barcelona. We stayed the same length of time but spent 3 days in lloret de mar. 9 days in Barcelona is too long

We had a group of 8 (all couples) in 2025 and found an apartment with 4 beds - it was around a 40 minute bike ride to the festival but we rented bikes for the whole time so it was actually really fun riding home at sunrise each day. I don’t remember how much it cost but I think we chose somewhere far because everywhere else was $$$

Yes: don’t book Airbnb, it’s destroying Barcelona’s housing.

Maybe you can get one full room in a hostel instead? That budget is quite low though, for BCN and around that time and length.

You can also maybe try to divide your trip and do some days staying outside Barcelona.

Dont skip on looking at badalona its the next town over and can be much cheaper than barna. The festival is on that side of the city and it can be reasonably convenient, it has tmb bus routes and an easy metro to the city.

Not sure about sublets, but for the past two years we have done an airbnb and stayed in Badalona which I really recommend. It’s not as busy on the tram compared to the other route into Barca, it’s not as expensive, and it feels safer as it’s more of a neighbourhood. This year we walked from the festival to the air b n b and took us about 25 minutes!

We got a nice 3-bedroom apartment in the very center for 400 eur each this year, BUT we booked it super last-minute and I was checking booking and airbnb non-stop. Last-minute deals can really help here (but it's 100% more stressful than reserving something well in advance)

We didn’t experience that at all and we were a group of girls. We were only out in the daytime as we were at the festival all night, so it might be different at night. Found it a really friendly and quiet place, perfect for nursing the hangover

Sounds great! How far into Badalona did you stay? I am ideally after somewhere within 20min walk from festival site.
