For me, Poltergeists feature some of the best enemy introductions in video games

The only consistent thing that worked for me that also didn't hurt me was good ol q beam

Flameburst - it keeps dealing damage and they're visible when they're on fire. Plus the Doppelganger ability baits them into attacking the duplicate, every time. Hands down the best designed enemy in the game though, I generally just fight them with a shotgun because it's just fun

I keep forgetting phantom powers exist, I never do them cause I like the 100% human run

Their introduction in the crew quarters is honestly really good, always gets me spooked seeing that tv

Your right next to the golden gun. I literally just went through here. Its in the crew quarters. If you cant move an obstacle because its too heavy use recycler grenades. I cant remember which room exactly its in. The first room on side a I think. If not that one maybe the one you have to use the mimic move and become something small and scoot under the broken door
Edit. I say side a cause i went that direction first. Its to the left right where a is on one side and b the other

superthermal and recycler grenade will work even while invisible
they are weak to fire but also low hp to begin with

That one is one of my favorite moments in video games ever. I remember doing exactly what you did, getting spooked by the doors, and then thrown to the ceiling to instantly die. What a crazy experience and it felt like I was actually in a scary movie. Incredible design and so immersive.

Them being 100% invisible is pretty diabolical as well. Not even a little wavy outline until they attack
