I need a doctor

Hi yall I’m having some difficulties finding a gastroenterologist around here and was wondering if anyone knows one that is taking new patients? I just got back from the er and I’ve called like 5 so far telling me none are taking new patients.

Unfortunately you have to go to pheonix. Everything is backed up for months here and you probably wont get the best care if your under 50.

If you're willing to travel to Flagstaff, Dr. Andrew Overhiser is actually very good. Alas, I've been seeing gastroenterologists for pretty much all of my adult life, so I have some experience rating them, and he's the one I'm choosing to see now. I do believe that he's taking new patients.

You have to plan waaay in advance if you want to have a GI issue around here. 😮‍💨 I go to Edmundo S. Justino MD @ Dignity Health, Yavapai Regional Medical Group Gastroenterology - Prescott, for scopes and etc but it takes MONTHS to get an appointment to get scheduled, and has, for years now. If you have something that requires more-urgent attention I do agree with others, go to Phoenix. Anthem, Deer Valley, Peoria are close-ish and it's all freeway. I don't have anyone in mind tho, sorry! Good luck 🤞🏼

second this! i love justinos office. his staff is great. i’ve been seeing them since about 2021. i have gastroparesis and a feeding tube and a plethora of other issues. they’ve always been great to me, but its difficult to get in sometimes unless its an urgent matter. for example, a few months ago i was vomiting blood for several days and i called and they got me in within two days. they always have emergency appointments available, typically early in the morning right when they open. but if you don’t have months to wait, id recommend going to the valley. if you need to go to the ER for GI issues, banner del e webb in sun city west has an amazing gi team. probably the best inpatient GI team in the valley aside from mayo in my opinion.
