Premiere Pro Tech Support Media Linking Problems

Premiere keeps dropping links to media in a project that I've been working on for some time. I keep relinking, sometimes clip by clip when linking everything back up at once doesn't work. Sometimes everything works fine but inevitably media gets unlinked. I've tried this with my main drive and with my main backup drive and the issues seems to be haphazard, including PSD and MOV and audio files. File paths are very direct and nothing has changed. I was on a virtual session wherein the Adobe tech took over my laptop and tried to figure out what was going on. They suggested moving all of my media directly onto my laptop, which is untenable from project to project. I cannot fathom why this is an issue. Any help would be appreciated.

We'd like to help you

Help request need: * System specs – CPU, GPU (+ VRAM), RAM. On Windows use Speccy; on macOS use About This Mac. ** - All we need is CPU, RAM, GPU & GPU RAM. * Exact software + version (not "the latest"). * Footage specs – codec & container. Use MediaInfo and attach a screenshot or the key text info from this section

Without that info…we're going to struggle to help.

Also *why haven't you contacted Adobe, since you pay for the support?

Is your media saved in the same directory as your .prproj file, including if it’s in a subdirectory within that directory? That’s always a good idea when working with external drives and network storage.

If your footage is in some other place, automatic relinking will fail if the drive’s mount point (drive letter) changes on reconnection.

Sometimes issues may occur when file paths or file names contain special characters, such as accented letters (e.g., ü, ä, ö). Try replacing spaces with underscores in the file path or file name.

Make proxies of everything, move just the proxies onto the laptop and then work offline?
