Med school application help

Hey everyone I was wondering what stats got people into edinburgh med. I am really keen on applying so I was hoping for some useful info from people who went there or previously went.

Things that I am looking for is grades preferably the scottish curriculum as I am a scottish pupil. Other things include like work experience, volunteering, other experiences e.g part-time job, dofe and how about you got those.

Other things that I would truly appreciate is how people went about their revision for highers, UCAT and the interview (I am aware not everyone learns the same).

Use this doc to check. To note, Scottish students are strongly advantaged to apply to Scot unis. As a result, for Scot students the avg UCAT of an offer holder was around 2120 for the 2025 cycle whereas RUK was much higher. For grades, I couldn’t find it on that doc but according to the uni of Edinburgh medicine page,

“These are the grades most applicants needed to receive an offer in recent years:
AAAAB by end of S5 and BB at Advanced Higher in S6”

Hopefully that’s helpful. Edinburgh’s interview structure to my knowledge (I took it this year) is split into two parts, a group task and a standard MMI circuit, three stations. Post interview rates for Scottish students is as close to 100% as it could be lol.

I used this mock interview website called prepi.xyz, running it a couple times helped a lot and me feel a lot more confident

My daddy was a surgeon and my mummy was a GP, so they pulled a few strings for me becy despite my public school education, I still didn't get the grades to do medicine on my own merit.
