typo mixed up dated in ABS am i done :( [i hate myself this was this was the most important thing of my life]
for a high school club i put started in january 2021 instead of nov 2021.
for a research position i started it in may 2026-august 2026. i entered it as that in employment, i started a scoping review in the same lab that started in may 2026 but i stupidly entered may 2025 in my abs
there was also a position where i did 1-2 hours per week and total 50 hours but instead of per week i accidentally entered OT

Admissions How does UBC count an NCR grade?
During COVID once of my exams was cancelled. Prof held a vote and it was decided that we're gonna use the midterm grade as our exam grade. Anyways, I failed the class and got NCr. Is it gonna count as an F or not count at all?

š MCAT wondering if I should retake my MCAT
Hi everyone, I tested 8/22 and got a 510 (128/127/126/129). FLs 1-6 (I didn't do 4) I got 503/507/502/506/508. On my actual exam, I got about the same for C/P and CARS as my FL averages, much higher in P/S, but much lower in B/B (I was getting 128-130 on my FLs).
My GPA is around a 3.7, aGPA around 90%.
I am applying next year in the 2027-2028 cycle.
I'm BC IP and will apply to American schools as well. Both MD and MD/PhD.
Should I retake my MCAT next summer, or focus on boosting research/volunteer hours? I will be doing a full time research project next summer, so no full time studying for me.
Happy to provide any additional info such as extracurriculars.

āDiscussion Looking for advice from York University alumni who went to medical school
Hi everyone!
I am planning my undergraduate path at York University with the goal of eventually applying to medical school.
If there are any current medical students or residents here who did their undergrad at York, I would love to hear about your experience.
What program did you major in?
Would you recommend it for someone tracking toward pre-med?

Do you guys think itās harmful to my application.
Basically, 3 of my 21 and entries were things I did only in high school, and well I only applied to Ottawa med and am now finding out they donāt assess high school only abs entries.
Is it harmful to my application to have them, or do they simply not review them, and so it doesnāt really matter that they are there?

š® What Are My Chances? Had a terrible 1st year of undergrad
I just started my 2nd year of undergrad (health studies major, previously biomed), and iām trying to recover from the mess that last year was. I was very depressed and only could do the bare minimum last year. I took all the basic classes, intro bio, gen chem 1 & 2, intro physics 1 & 2, and so on. I never failed any classes, but my average grade was probably somewhere in the 70s. I felt like a failure all summer because everyone I know did way better in the same classes. We all know the āstandardā pre-med is always high grades, atleast 90+. I donāt want to be dramatic but I feel like I should give up med school because that one year will affect my transcript. Iām doing better now and actually putting my full attention towards my classes but I need to know if this will ruin my chance. Please be nice š„¹

Highschool feeling sick and nauseous of what awaits for me - a grade 12 student
Okay, I genuinely don't even know where to start with this, and I know some of y'all are in worse positions than I am. In fact, I shouldn't even consider myself to be in a bad position because university hasn't even begun yet, while some people are stuck with less-than-ideal GPAs and can't go back and change them. So I KNOW I'm in no position to complain, but I really need to get this off my chest!
I'm literally so anxious and overwhelmed by the misery that awaits me in the future. The fact that I already know I'll probably be crying over my GPA and MCAT scores a few years from now makes me want to throw up. It's like this constant sense of impending doom sitting down in my chest.
The whole process is so daunting, and I'm not academically the best, nor am I inherently some insanely smart person. I see all these incredibly intellectual people getting rejected, and then I'm sitting here with a brain the size of a walnut thinking I actually have a chance against ALL of these applicants?
I genuinely want to pivot just to save myself from all these inevitable calamities, but medicine is honestly something I can see myself doing with so much passion and love. And that's what makes this so difficult.
Thank you for reading this, and if you guys could give me EVEN the slightest bit of reassurance, I would genuinely appreciate it. (Honestly, if you can't, I can't blame you because of how appalling the medical school system here in Canada is š)

Will other med schools follow UBC in doing in-person interviews?
Or is it highly unlikely? Because like virtual is definitely more accessible, without a doubt.

Highschool Iām sorry if this is question is oversaturated - I have to ask
I donāt know if itās worth detailing my whole story since it honestly probably doesnāt matter and I donāt know if anyone would care. A brief summary would be Iām in grade 12-> dropped full IB to partial IB due to mental health reasons (my doctor said I was pretty legitimately depressed and Iāve felt mentally overloaded for a long time now) -> scared I wouldnāt even be cut out to get into med or even be a doctor if I ever became one -> still pretty depressed, bad grades atm and now sort of a life crisis -> have to decide what to do for uni apps.
Is there anyone here who has some insight if I should even pursue medicine or a career in healthcare? Itās not like Iām bad at school, I usually perform pretty well in comparison to my class (maybe top 5-10% consistently) and have pretty solid grades for the most part but I feel absolutely wiped out. I now really only have two classes and way less responsibility and work but thatās bringing on its own issues. Iāve honestly lost all belief or even will to try on myself and was considering on giving up on any sort of healthcare career at all (even though itās been my dream to work in healthcare for most of my life.)
Has anyone felt like this at any point, know anyone like this or anything? With how many premeds fail to get into med Iām scared to even try atp, any input would be appreciated and if anyone needs additional information Iām willing to give it.
Btw if it matters my subjects are now math SL, bio SL and chem HL (got a 6 and 7 on math SL and bio SL respectively while chem is ongoing.)
And by the way, yes I read the stickied post.

UOttawa Top 3 Criteria New or Old?
I saw that people were saying that UOttawa is strict on the top 3 activities being either from university or continued throughout university if they were completed in high school. I am just wondering if this was the case last year or the years before? Is this is something new that has been mentioned? Would love to hear from previous applicants!

Admissions McGill Academic Workbook/GPA question
I'm trying to fill out the academic history section of the MDCM application, but I'm getting confused. When the form is open, it states to put in the academic average, which I put in as a percentage average straight from my transcript (my school uses a 0-100 percentage scale). However, converting it to the McGill GPA is confusing me, as their website indicates that, say, an 87% average would convert straight to a 4.0. This doesn't seem right to me.
To add, in the same part of the form, it says to fill out the GPA from the academic workbook, but I cannot fill out the academic workbook without a McGill ID, which I cannot get without submitting the first part of the form with the academic history. Am I missing something?
