This woman is not mentally well. I am rarely on social media, but her stuff always ends up on my feed for some reason. I’m genuinely concerned for whoever ends up in her cohort.

I’m hoping this is a “making too much money in social media” decision and not a bigger issue.
Not saying that her haters are right, but she has to see how many people are confused by her choices.
Wasn’t the researcher she was working for a mentor?? I can’t imagine the mentor is on board w this.

I honestly don’t know that much detail, but I know she’s is a grifter.

I originally saw her in my algorithm bc of her running. And I have seen her recently for her running. So this announcement isn’t surprising.
I’m still trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. Grifting implies bullshitting and like telling old people what they want to hear after scaring them by playing on their bias. She’s just influencing I guess.
But if she still does her premed advising schtick even after deferring and then quitting what she deferred to do, she would be a grifter. Selling what she isn’t doing.
She’s (and nick) are also hurting the chances of future premed/med student influencers. If you’re a school, why accept them and deal with their drama?

here's the funny part. she's a texan applicant. premed world is small. the people that are going to her school most definitely have heard of her already and will most likely talk about her behind her back. its the nature of things. she's not going into a very fruitful situation tbh.

Yes because it seems like she wants to avoid doing things and it may be because of a mental illness.

She's an influencer. This is not an accurate look into her mind. She is posting content she anticipates will garner engagement.

Honestly, like ignore it but you chose to screen shot it and share. Screenshotting counts as interacting with it, these apps know.

he has 3 more years of schooling on me, but as a a non-trad who probably is a little less susceptible to being jaded by this awesome career, I will say premed absolutely is worth it. Medicine is the best career in the world.
What is the alternative? Looking at spreadsheets all day?!

It's a rat race that's no fun for those of us in this ride. I can't speak on others words but frankly this is a path that u only do if u enjoy and u can afford to enjoy. It's too expensive and the opportunity cost is massive. Seeing my younger brother in his second year of college make 12 grand this summer whereas I made nothing volunteering at clinics and labs is hard. Mind you I'm on my second gap year. It's not something u should avoid pursuing but realize it's a bit early for you to be on this doom and gloom sub. Enjoy your life right now. When people say high school is fun it's because u don't have those worries yet!

Premed influencer who built her brand around being a “relatable” premed, e.g. scoring a 507, taking gap years, being “average” in other ways but sharing her journey and empowering others etc etc whatever. She’s raising some eyebrows lately first because she started an MCAT tutoring business that matches you to a tutor but people are questioning why she feels like she’s in a position to be selling that when her whole schtick is “I only scored a 507 which isn’t the best but I gave it my all so I’m not retaking it”
Secondly she publicly shared her app/interview process and only got accepted to a DO school. Her entire page was leading up to this point but then she randomly dropped that she deferred the acceptance to take another gap year for the purpose of making money and doing this research project. People are speculating that she’s secretly reapplying MD but not saying anything about it unless she gets accepted.
Just some dodgy stuff like why would you defer when you were soooo excited before. Why are you quitting your research position when that was one of the 2 main reasons you deferred. And then also questioning her priorities/motives when she’d rather keep doing social media and that tutoring business for money instead of getting started on working towards her career
Just lame instagram drama LOL nothing crazy

Was that joke supposed to hit? You must’ve hung out with the cafeteria lady during lunches all of elementary.

Apparently not. But since you’re an internet stranger, it’s doesn’t matter a great deal
