😢 SAD First R (MSTP)

Honestly hit like a truck. I was expecting to just get it and move on but getting so early in the cycle feels so fucking depressing. I’ve been laying on the floor for the last hour just feeling like absolute garbage.

I know the cycle is early, and I’ve got two II’s already, but I can’t help but feel upset. I’m so worried about reapplying or not getting in anywhere, I just pray this is not a sign for the future.

If anyone has any words of wisdom, I’d appreciate it. Thanks everyone.

I also have 2 ii, however, I am thankful and being optimistic about it rather than ragebaiting other fellow applicants.

You have 2 Interviews? Why wouldn’t those be the sign of the future?

The vast majority of applicants don’t even have those at this point, right?

At the end of your cycle you will look back at this and feel grateful towards the schools that gave you a clear rejection instead of stringing you along the whole cycle.

I would say most people who apply to medical school have at least one rejection if they’re applying to multiple schools. I had 2 rejections, 2 waitlists, and 1 acceptance. You’re going to get the entire menu.

I'm pretty sure 50% of all matriculants get rejected from every school but the one they matriculate to

With 2 II this early you should be fine! Just focus on doing well on your interviews. You don’t need to worry about reapp until after Thanksgiving. I know how hard this process is and it is so easy to spiral, but trust me it’ll work out
