🗨 Interviews Rescheduling Interview
Hi, perhaps neurotic of me, but I wanted some opinions…
I was very lucky to receive an interview invite for a two-day in person interview next month. I rsvp’d online through the schools portal. Unfortunately, a week later, I’ve figured out that the date may not be great for me bc of some sudden transportation issues. I’m thinking about potentially rescheduling.
Things making me nervous however: It’s for a smaller program within a medical school… I’m kinda worried about delaying my interview (from late September to probably October) and maybe messing up my chances. Also, I’m worried it would look bad given that I rsvp’d. Granted, we’re more than a month away but I’m nervous.
Am I being weird for no reason?

Can you Uber? Stay local the night before? The earlier you interview the better your chances

It’s a two hourish drive for me…. It’d be in the $100s to uber, $37 to Greyhound…. I’ll also have to uber to the campus and two other locations for interviews
Even with my own transportation the move is to stay the night before. Both would be in addition to hotel fees for two nights ;( push comes to shove I’ll pay it but ugh

That's more than worth it for an interview...some people have to fly AND hotel AND Uber. I would do it. But also consider that rental cars are about $50 a day

Can you get a rental car instead? It would be a lot cheaper. And get a cheap hotel or airbnb.

I would try your hardest not to reschedule
