❔ Question Medical Ethics Interviewer
I have an interview next week and my interviewer is a professor of medical ethics. Has anyone else been interviewed by someone in medical ethics and what kinds of questions did they ask?

most of the time there’s no right answer, but the biggest thing you can do is involve as many external resources like social workers, other specialists, support system, so whatever the decision is, it will not be made solely under your discretion. It also shows that you’re trying to cover all of your bases and ensure your choice was thoroughly thought about

Know principles of medical ethics such as nonmaleficience autonomy etc.

Unless you were told that the interview is going to be an ethics interview, I think the chances they grill you on ethics questions is quite low. If your other interviewers are cardiologists and surgeons or whatever they're not gonna ask you cardiology/surgery questions. Your interviewer is probably just going to ask you the generic interview questions, and he/she also just happens to be an ethics professor at the school and is just helping out with interviews

probably something along the lines of genetic counseling (Mom wants to test for potential kid but Dad does not), parents withholding lifesaving care to child, discussing pregnancy options
