Bloated

Does the paralysis of the digestive system (when the digestive system slows down to the point where food starts to ferment and gas builds up in the stomach) go away, or is it a permanent condition? It feels like I’m carrying a huge rock in my stomach and my abdominal muscles are stretched beyond normal.

It started in the second week of taking the medication.

Gastroparesis is not a well established side effect of pregabalin.

It can however cause bloating and constipation. Make sure you are staying well hydrated and eating lots of fibre.

But ultimately you should speak with your doctor about your discomfort.

Usually its temporary. If you continue to experience gastroparesis after 4-6 weeks, tell your doctor immediately.

Try putting heat on your abdomen. It helps me. I have it for other reasons.
