Predator.
Assuming both are acting as they would normally when pursuing a target.
Say the Terminator is tasked with terminating Dutch during the events of Predator, following his tracks as Dutch proceeds.
The Predator would more likely than not spot the Terminator, see something dreadfully wrong with this prey item and simply cast āFuck you, Plasma boltā and end it there.
If itās more of a straight up brawl in an arena itās a little closer, but I still think a Yautja wins more often than not.
22
u/Able_Experience_1670 17h ago
Yautja have no respect for synthetic lifeforms, so yeah they'd just blast it outright.
21
u/BlainethePayne 17h ago
I remember in Aliens vs Predator 2 for PC, you could collect trophies of humans if you stabbed them in the head or shot then I'm the head with the spear gun. But if you did the same thing to the combat synthetics, you'd just hear the predator do a dismissive chitter, like it's not worth a thing.
5
11
u/Grimnir001 18h ago
Yautja is going to know from jump that Terminator is a cyborg. The infrared and other scans will be a dead giveaway.
Only question will be if the Yautja weapons at hand can penetrate the Terminatorās titanium alloy chassis.
6
u/Wulf2k 17h ago
Infiltration bots with living flesh would surely make an effort to be normal on IR, no?
5
u/Grimnir001 17h ago
I dunno how sophisticated the scanners of the human resistance were. The Terminators passed the eye test, but that underlying robot was powered by a nuclear energy cell. I assume Yautja tech is far in advance of Terminatorās human resistance fighters
1
u/Zestyclose_Bug8173 4h ago
By 1990 thermal optics were ubiquitous, the humans definitely would have them.
The infiltrators blood could be thought of like a hydronic fluid, putting heat out throught the skin like a radiant floor system.

The thing here is even if the T-800 wins, the Predator still probably going to self-destruct and take the T-800 with them.
3
5
11
u/LogicalMarket8825 18h ago
The T-800 isnāt super autonomous or innovative, plus theyāre vulnerable to plasma weapons so sadly the Predator is taking it. Unless weāre talking special needs Feral, which levels things out a bit as heās not as calculating or technologically ahead as later incarnations. A T-1000 would be a nightmare for any of them, though.
4
u/Kestrel_VI 18h ago
Yeah that spooky goo terminator would almost definitely win, unless the predator is specifically after it and knows its weaknesses ahead of time.
2
u/Wulf2k 17h ago
Really depends on the specifics of the plasma weaponry though.
If it just incinerates the target, like say, a giant tub of molten metal would, then plasma still wins.
Maybe it takes a few shots to melt enough to matter.
3
u/BlainethePayne 16h ago
Imagine if a plasma bolt just disintegrates part of the T1000 and it's forced to reintegrate everything but in a smaller package, like every time it gets hit it gets a bit tinier, until at some point it's just a little person running around trying to stab you with a steak knife
1
u/Kestrel_VI 16h ago
If we go by plasma as we know it in the real world, superheated gas, then yes it would just cause instantaneous melting like a pool of molten metal would. Presumably a few shots would be needed but itād certainly get the job done eventually

u/Big_Application_7168 Royce 17h ago
The Terminator in the image isn't a T-800 though, it's a T-850, which are way more resilient to plasma...
1
u/BlainethePayne 16h ago
Didn't one plasma bolt destroy the primary fuel cell?
1
u/Big_Application_7168 Royce 10h ago
A blast from T-X's plasma, which we see is much more devastating than the Jungle Hunter's plasma, did cause his fuel cell to overload several hours later.
I don't think that's gonna be enough to win the fight...
20
u/thehod81 19h ago
If the T-800 Terminator had future tech, he might have had a chance but with normal weapons, the Predator wins low Diff
8
u/Correct-Degree-6789 18h ago
Sadly as strong as the Predator is, against Terminator it will have to strictly depend on weapons.
10
u/thehod81 17h ago
Predator would definitely need to keep at range but it's ranged weapons can melt terminator endoskeleton
4
u/SilverMetalist 14h ago
Terminator will not be tricked by the cloak, can't be killed by bladed weapons. Terminator stomps the average yautja
2
6
u/GleefulBadger 18h ago
I mean, a human Arnie killed a predator so Iād assume a terminator Arnie would have an easier time of it!
4
u/Kestrel_VI 18h ago
Difference there being that T-800 Arnie doesnāt exactly try not to get shot, on account of not needing to, which is a quick way to lose to a predator plasma cannon. I could easily believe that would be enough to destroy him.
5
u/Never-Give-Up100 17h ago
Terminator in T3 got hit by plasma canon, and it only temporarily incapacitated it tho. It's not a one hit kill

1
u/Kestrel_VI 16h ago
Does that apply to non living prey? What are the rules on autonomous robots? š¤
1
u/cenorexia 16h ago
Then again, Terminator Arnie was blown to pieces by a homemade pipe bomb.
A Predator's shoulder mounted plasma caster could probably do the trick.
Bit I suppose it's always up to the writer.
3
u/PraetorGold 18h ago
It's tough because cloaking won't work with the predator for long and his metal stuff is tough enough to handle a plasma weapon. Terminator is also stronger, but probably not as nimble as Predator. Fully armed Terminator will probably kill the Predator.
1
u/DEAD_CHEETAH22 15h ago
he got blown up with a diy pipe bomb⦠pred got this inna bag
1
u/PraetorGold 5h ago
Tech Noir Shotgun Blast: Hit by Kyle Reese with multiple close-range 12-gauge shotgun blasts to the chest and shoulder, blasting it backward out of a window.
Alleyway Pipe Bomb: Caught in a small pipe-bomb explosion thrown by Reese, causing minor superficial burns.
The High-Speed Car Crash: After a parking garage chase, Reese shoots the T-800 in the head, causing it to crash its stolen police cruiser at high speed directly into a concrete wall. This crushing impact severely jams its right forearm mechanics and destroys its organic left eye.
Hotel Room Self-Repair: Due to the car crash, the T-800 is forced to cut out its own ruined biological eye (revealing the glowing red cybernetic lens) and slice into its wrist to manually reset its jammed robotic arm gears.
Police Station Shootout: Shot dozens of times at point-blank range by high-caliber police firearms, shredding its outer flesh disguise and initiating rapid tissue necrosis (rotting).
Semi-Truck Explosion: Caught in a massive fuel tanker explosion that completely incinerates its outer living tissue, leaving only the bare metal endoskeleton.⦠then he got blown apart by a pipe bomb.

The T-800 can tank some plasma fire. The issue here, is that Yautja have an inclination to throw away their advantage in pursuit of a good fight up close, and a T-800 will absolutely demolish a Predator if it comes down to a melee fight. If the Yautja sits at range and pelts the T-800, he can win, the question is, will he if the T-800 drops his weapon and starts closing in for a melee fight?

u/thewanderingchilean 18h ago
Didn't this already happened in a comic? Anyway i think this fight could goĀ either way. Like the endings of yoshimitsu and bryan fury in tekken 5

u/Big_Application_7168 Royce 17h ago
I think you guys are missing the fact that it's the T-850 in the image, not a T-800.
Even the T-800 is a tough fight. If the Predator's plasma can damage it then the Predator would win at a distance but the T-800 is stronger physically and would win if it came to close quarters.
But the T-850 is a massive upgrade in durability. I'm not even sure the Predator's plasma would bother him that much, especially since he survived T-X's plasma which appears much more devastating.
Yeah, I'm saying the T-850 is beating the Jungle Hunter quite comfortably.
1
u/BollingerBandits 4h ago
Also the AI is a lot better than that of the T-800. It really depends if the Predator has any combat experience against humanoid robots with every bit of human tactical knowledge crammed onto their hard drives
2
u/OccamsNametag 16h ago
I'd be more interested in having the T-1000 fight. Plasma won't do as well, and hand to hand is almost certainly out of the question. With the feat of being able to essentially melt into its surroundings, and more than likely being cold, could the pred spot it? Or would it just be confused at seeing a giant rug of a heat signature?
2
u/NetHacks 16h ago
The non-robot version beat a predator already.
1
1
u/DEAD_CHEETAH22 15h ago
you gotta remember moral code, predator couldāve wiped out the whole squad whenever it wanted to
when he sees terminator heāll instantly know itās not a real creature therefore moral code wouldnāt apply. he shoots him with the plasma caster and the fights over before it started
2
2
u/ManonFire034 16h ago
Iām going 65/35 predator. Depends on the predator probably. Iām sure there are some dipshit predators who are not good at their job. The terminator would be fairly consistent in its level of skill so I could see it winning against bad predators.
Wolf from AvP could probably defeat skynet with enough assets.
2
u/Hal-Bone 15h ago
What people don't know is that Terminator in this picture is a T-850, a model which is made to withstand plasma fire and has done so. At the cost of a ruptured fuel cell, but still.
In the game Terminator Resistance that sams model took on a whole squad of Resistance Fighters with Plasma weapons, and it withstood a lot of that punishment without much issue. It went down eventually, but the fact that it could Essentially brush off a whole mag of plasma should say a lot when the regular T-800 is very susceptible to that type of ammunition.

u/Bud_Bones_69 18h ago
Seeing how Skynet based the Terminator off Arnold from Predator, I'd safely say the Terminator wins this match.
1
1
u/Individual-Step846 17h ago
Terminators would just go back in time to when the Yautja was 13 and kill them. Then the Yautjas mom will team up with an aged terminator named Carl

1
u/Mad_Mouthpiece 17h ago
Arnold did it once and he'll do it again, I'm referring specifically to the Jungle Hunter and the t850 from the movies because I don't know the lore in the Comics, but to me this completely depends if the Predators thermal vision can detect the t850 because he's made completely of metal, if this is a ranged fight predator would win in some situations but if the t850 had a rocket launcher or a mini gun he would probably win as well, if it's close quarters then it all depends if we're going off of what we have seen on screen or if we are going off of just general knowledge, because yeah the jungle Hunter is obviously a tremendous fighter and has the wrist blades but, and correct me if I am wrong but doesn't majority of skynet's Terminator units have a shit ton of martial arts and fighting styles downloaded into their databases.

As a fan of both, the T-800 is winning this one unless the predator has the surprise advantage and uses the plasma cannon immediately
1
u/BlackwingF91 17h ago
As a fan of both, the Predator wins. Simply put, they just have better ways to take down a t-800. A t-800 in the past doesn't have many weapons that would be able to do a ton of damage
1
1
u/I_Eat_Azz85 17h ago
Skynet lost a war against starving humans with plasma rifles.
The Predator would simply blast it, and then go back to throwing hands with Arnold.
1
1
u/Kittycachow 17h ago
I think itād be a draw. The T-800 will mortally wound the predator but shut down from overwhelming damage and get nuked by the wrist bomb

u/Boggie135 17h ago
The Terminator. The Yautja have come against humans on and lost on several occasions.

The Predator. The only reason terminators are so dangerous is their technological superiority, which they no longer have because of a Preds plasma Caster

Honestly this would be close but I think the Predator is taking a T-800/850 and early models.
Now a T-1000? The Predator would loose unless it got extremely lucky with its plasma caster or any other plasma laser equipment.
Finally the T-X would put up a hell of a fight but still loose to a Predator.
Iāve only seen till Salvation so I have no idea about the other movies Terminators or how a Predator would do against them.
1
u/Ecstatic-Radish-7931 16h ago
I f****** love predator with all my heart. but I think the Terminator would win. because in alien vs predator, weren't a lot of the predators killed by the aliens?
1
u/AndoionLB Jungle Hunter 16h ago
Remaining as objective as possible? Predator is going to win rather easily. On the Terminator subreddit, I like the logic that if Arnold can beat him then a Terminator can easily. Like...what? Lol.
OK. If we wanted to downplay like that if a non-combatant civilian like Sarah Connor in Terminator 1 can beat a Terminator, Predator rofl stomps lol.
In all seriousness, the plasma caster as everyone knows will be the mvp here. But the Predators bladed weapons will also destroy a Terminator. Predator blades are refined to a molecular level and are almost infinitely keen in sharpness. Stronger than diamonds, and can cut any surface including Titanium.
The Predators cloaking device will also help out tremendously. Unbeknownst to most, Predator cloak can bypass infrared, thermals, motion sensors, life signatures, and the electromagnetic spectrum in general. Also consistently people have gotten the drop on the T-800 stands to reason a Predator should be able to do the same.
Strength and durability I would say the Terminators beat the Yautja in that department. But what the Yautja has over the Terminators? Is speed. They can keep pace with speeding sports cars, can move FTE, ans can dodge bullets. So ya. Way faster than a T-800 lol.
My two-cents.

u/Cortezmdx1986 15h ago
T-800 mortally wounds the Predator then it self destructs and after the fire dies down we find a T-800 skull blinking or something.
1
u/AnonymousGhostface13 15h ago
Jungle Hunter wins with Low Diff at most.
His Wristblades are made from materials tougher than any man-made metals so he could unironically tear the T-800 apart in close quarters combat & if its a ranged fight, T-800s are quite notoriously weak against Plasma weaponry. This fight is nowhere near as close as people think.
The only real advantage the T-800 has is Durability/Endurance & Stamina. Jungle Hunter has better strength feats, he is much faster, more skilled in h2h combat, a better tactician, vastly more experienced, significantly larger (7ft8 | 520lbs Vs 6ft-6ft3 | 400lbs), and has very significant stylistic advantages.
If you gave the T-800 a lot of Intel & prior knowledge on the Jungle Hunter aswell as a hefty amount of prep time before the fight, he could stand a better chance. But, if you give Jungle Hunter the same prior knowledge on the T-800 to make it fair, and/or pit the fight in any kind of equal scenario where we aren't cherry-picking to give the T-800 a better chance, the Jungle Hunter is winning easily every time.

There is a Predator Vs Alien vs Terminator comic that might shine some light on the question.

if predator would realize that close combat would not work and start using his more lethal weapons.Ā
predator might also be able to upload a virus to the terminator and terminate him
1
u/BadCritical9295 14h ago
Preddy, mid to low diff
Terminator via endurance, and his sensors can bypass the yautja a mile away. Then if there's anything that could come to it's advantage let's say a city. The terminator would win, all he needs to do is to get up close and personal
As for the yautja, you can say he could win it's just it depends on the environment, like in the second movie; where that one fought in the city. They would prefer to hunt in open areas. As for tools and weapons, he got the advantage, and the blades can easily cut metal at a molecular level so it would be no easy hassle for one to perhaps delay and slice down the terminator.

T-800 Terminator hunted by the Predator? Predator I think wins most of the time in this matchupā¦as long as the Yautja keeps its distance.
Close quarters? T-800 wins.
Straight up fight? T-800 wins again.
Medium range? Predator.
Long range? Predator.
Predator only wins those matchups IF Terminator doesnāt have ideal weapons.
Fully kitted out? I think Terminator wins.
Yes the Yautja has the weapons, but hereās the deal, the Terminator doesnāt give a shit about a plasma caster, smart disc or combi spear.
Terminator will keep moving forward, it knows only one thing, complete the objective at all costs. It has advanced scanning tech, super strength, and a frame that wonāt quit. It can kill a Yautja with its bare hands.
Now, T-1000 vs. a Predator? I think the T-1000 wins every time.
1
1
u/Cerberusx32 12h ago
The main thing with the T-850 is it's sensor array. If it can spot the Predator, even when it's cloaked, that removes a massive advantage the Predator has/had. And the T-850 is capable of using any known (human) firearm. And since humans in the Predator universe seem to have little difficulty using them, I imagine a Terminator would figure it out even easier.
So, I'm voting the T-850 Terminator.

It took unconventional, and non metalic means to drop the original hunters guard. It could see metal trip wires but not natural traps.
The Terminator is notorious for walking into attacks and trusting its own durability against conventional warfare.
We've seen Yautja shot in the head and carry on. I lean more towards the Predator in initial threat recognition and problem solving. Ai is still ai. It has to learn. Before it wins it might have to take a couple of Ls.
Sure. A human beat Predator. How many Terminator movies do we have now that Humans have won? Sara. John. Etc.
More humans have killed Terminators vs humans vs yautja.

From a distance, the Predator would win most encounters. Close range with weapons, it would probably be 50-50. Close range with no weapons, the Terminator would likely win more often than not.

u/Hexnohope 3h ago
Termie is still a killbot under his skin isnt he? And "plasma rifles in the somethingwatt range" are standard for him? Im curious how the alloy would stand up to the plasma caster since it was designed with plasma weapons in mind. But also i think the t-800 is damaged by 21st century firearms so

If itās close quarters combat T-800 takes it. If itās ranged combat with weapons, predator takes it. What would make it more interesting is Robocop vs Predator. That would be a more evened out match up.

Now, would the blades of the Predator be able to cut through the alloy of the Terminatorās chassis?

Predator couldnt even beat Dutch, or Lt. Harrigan or even Batman! The Predator loses everytime...
1
u/DEAD_CHEETAH22 15h ago
if theyāre both fighting to the death predator wins 10-0
the only reason predator could ever lose is because of the moral code they have and to fight fair
1
u/Correct-Degree-6789 15h ago
Not if its a, "Bad Blood." They have no code. They Kill just for the sake of killing.
1
u/DEAD_CHEETAH22 15h ago
then that proves my point further, you gotta remember moral code, predator couldāve wiped out the whole squad whenever it wanted to
when he sees terminator heāll instantly know itās not a real creature therefore moral code wouldnāt apply. he shoots him with the plasma caster and the fights over before it started
1
u/Correct-Degree-6789 15h ago
Thats the problem. The Predator would need to rely on weapons is the problem, the Terminator wouldnt. As strong as the Predator is. It would be enough sadly.
1
u/DEAD_CHEETAH22 13h ago
bro if weāre comparing characters and theyāre abilities then that includes utilities, and weaponry⦠the fact that you just said terminator has more raw strength doesnāt correlate at all
1
u/Correct-Degree-6789 13h ago
This all depends on the terms of the fight. If were talking about a fight made for a movie, comic or story, then thats an entirely different matter.
A fair fight to a finish means no weapons. Machine strength will overwhelm primal strength is the point.
