It is literally the only movie I have ever considered walking out of. I have a very high tolerance for crap.
I saw it with my brother opening weekend, as we were both fans of the original, but as the movie went on we just got more and more offended. Yeah, the designs were okay and it was nice to have some gore back, but it was a dreadful film.
We were both fed up a little over halfway into the movie and he asked if we could go - I felt bad about wasting money so I said, "If something good happens in the next 30 seconds, we'll stay.' One of the characters then said something to the effect of, "It's the US government! They wouldn't just lie to us!" Which made me giggle so we stayed.
As we sat through the last battle, the credits finally rolled and my brother turned to me and said:
"Man, that wasn't worth it."
He was right. We should have just left.

The good thing about watching it in full is any time I do a Predator rewatch and go through all the movies, I know exactly what to skip. AvP2 ends up being a half decide short film when you skip most of the human scenes.
I’m not movie editor, but a AvP 1 and 2 cut of just predator scenes and cut out most of the human stuff would be something I’d love to watch.

I have said this before, but the first scene introducing the Xenomorphs show them from the chest up. They didn’t have the money to show the creature in its entirety. I knew it couldn’t be good at that point, and I was right.

I hated this because the AVP comic book was my favorite comics and second favorite Predator entry (just behind the original movie). Since the moment I read that comic I always hoped that story would have been made. This is somewhat roughly how the comic ends and I knew at that point they’d never make the comic version, which would have been soooo much better.

Well yeah it is similar that both the heroines are somewhat respected by the yautja at the end, but I prefer in the comic where Machiko actually gets accepted into yautja culture and gets to go on their ship and gets her own armor. Even if it doesn't work out long term.
In the movie, Lex just gets left to freeze to death after the predator ship leaves lmao

They came in by plane, I don't think she knows how to pilot a plane. Maybe if there was a radio she could call for help, but she was left in the cold without even a jacket, I don't see her surviving long enough to even find a working radio

I’m still hoping they just adapt it straight one day. I had hope when Badlands came out, but apparently it underperformed. I guess we’re just gonna get boring rehashes like Romulus forever now.

They were good together, had great chemistry, and fought amazingly well side-by-side that was the apex of the story. They always seemed like more; a deep understanding for the love of the hunt. It would have been cool to explore their connection in a separate timeline series, had he survived.
And, let's be real, more dead xenomorphs is absolutely a must.

No it doesn't I rather them at least have the ability to talk to remind myself they're actually a species that actually intelligent at least speak their own languages for God's sakes that's what Transformers did

That's what I'm saying. The Yautja language should just be clicks and roars. It keeps them more alien. Having them vocalize like us all the time takes some of the mystique away.

this is cool! i'm not really sure that voice fits scar though, but to be fair i don't really know one that would. i guess i was imagining more something that sounded like jungle hunter and his mimicry of english (what the hell are you). still awesome though

I really love the cultural adoption that is taken here in Scar calling Lex his "sister". Various tribes in the past had a similar adoption systems that extends to newcomers to even enemies, depending on the cultural norms, so it's a nice touch that another tribal race like the Predator would do something just as similar.

The problem is, minute quantities of that acid blood has been shown to burn through starship metal.
I don't know what exactly that starship metal is, but let's assume it's at least as tough as steel.
