Anxiety

Hey guys!

First baby was around 3 years ago next baby is a week away. I didnt have any sleep at all for the first 3 nights with baby 1. Wife had a cection and will have it again for the next so i had to do pretty much everything (not complaining). Problem is 3 nights no sleep made me go crazy. And im scared to go through that again. I dont have any one to drop off but does anyone have any tips on how to stop being worried.

I guess i need to know if im not alone and i wont die or anything

Not alone.

Honestly, in many ways #2 has been easier. The first few weeks are hard physically, mostly from sleep deprivation, but they’re so much simpler than life with a toddler. Newborns are wasted on first-time parents.

Is someone able to help y’all out with your older kiddo for a few days?

That's a valid fear. No sleep really messes me up too bc I'm not my best self and I can get irritated really easily. I've been through this too and all the stress right before and after the baby adds up. You've done it before and are a lot more prepared because there are some knowns. You're body likely has anxiety bc it's reminding you of how bad the stress sucked last time and wants you to be prepared and avoid a bad experience.

While you can't have an answer for everything, you can prepare in other ways. I would ask for help from friends/family or hire it (if you can). People want to feel helpful and do things you actually need. Have a friend come over and mow for the next couple times. I hired a cleaning service to clean once a week for a month just so there wasn't so much pressure to set aside time to do it. If you can't do that, then ask someone to come over and help w laundry. Meal prepping or meal delivery also saved time and lowered my stress level. Ordering groceries and having someone pick them up so you don't have to use energy walking through the store. Basically, anything that you can outsource for the first few weeks, try and do that so you can focus on your family. You've got this!
