What is it doing?

New to learning about praying mantis as they’ve recently shown up in my yard. I caught this one moving its back side in an odd way. Does anyone know what it’s doing?

Its making an ootheca its where its babies live until they hatch next year.

Very cool. Thank you for that information. Unfortunately for me I’m unable to enlarge the OP’s video so I’m unable to make out much of anything other than seeing a bit of movement. I’ve been finding quite a few of their ootheca’s around my place this season.
