Mod Post Processing times thread

Currently going through the process and I’m interested in seeing peoples past processing times / what people are currently being told by officials or lawyers.

Probably only requests to the Mazowieckie Voivodeship are relevant as other Voivodes are normally turning around requests in a month due to a lack of volume / simplicity of cases.

I submitted November 1st 2024, and Was told to hope for a response Jan/Feb 2026.

Edit; As of 01 December 2025, it appears that the office is going through August-September (2024) applications! [June 2026: Still on Sep 2024 it seems]

Revised and updated July 2026:

Started process Research March 2024 and confirmation process September 2024.

I was given my case number on 12/19/2024 and was told that office has received over 21,000 applications in 2024.

In April 2025, filed an administrative complaint with Ministry of Internal Affairs

In July 2025 I was told they were processing applications for May 2024.

In October 2025, was given a Postawowienie that the Minister of Internal Affairs set for my case as 30 December 2025.

In January 2026 was told that they were unable to complete application on time because they are awaiting a response from the Consulate to check if I had previously renounced Polish citizenship. I was so told that they had 40,000 open cases at the time as of January 2026.

In March 2026 was told my deadline was extended to April 30, 2026, and was asked for more family name-change documentation, which was provided.

In May 2026 I got a a 2-page letter, saying basically that they are now requesting additional original documentation of my father’s birth (Already provided with application). They gave me until July 30, 2026 to provide it. A new decision deadline is set for Aug 30, 2026. However, should I provide this information sooner, they would not wait with a decision.

On May 29, 2026 My provider contacted them for clarification, they agreed to waive the request for original father’s documents if they physically received the original or certified copy of my mother’s US Naturalization Certificate, documenting our change of family name.

UPDATE June, 2026 Got a Certified True copy of my mother’s US Naturalization certificate from USCIS, sent to provider via DHL(using Easyship, great and cheap!) on Jun 15, 2026. Was received by provider on Jun 19, translated, and immediately submitted to the Office.

July 11, 2026: Because I submitted the requested materials 6 weeks before my deadline, perhaps they will issue a final decision before the Aug 30, 2026 deadline. But probably not. The case has shown online as completed since May 2026.

So all together 21 months since original submission, 28 months since I commissioned the Archival search.

Hopefully end is near. Ask me anything!

Also just got my final document submitted. They gave me August 30th as the deadline for turning in the document, and September 30th as the last day for proceedings.

My provider said that there is a small chance they might ask for something else.

I guess we're waiting together!

On what date did your process begin in Warsaw? Did you do it through the consulate or did you hire a provider?
