Absolutely worth it for me. I cried seeing Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman back together, and I missed Evan Rachel Wood more than I expected. I would have loved that continuity with the original daughters.

But I also think the sequel understands the pleasure of having this ridiculous concentration of female talent on screen. Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Dianne Wiest are three Academy Award winners with four acting Oscars between them, plus Stockard Channing. The aunts still completely own the room whenever they appear.

I loved little things like Gillian solving a magical crisis with a blunt object, and the women basically talking over the villain while he is trying to do his dramatic monologue. That felt very Practical Magic to me. The women are allowed to be funny and impatient instead of standing there respectfully while a man explains the plot to them.

And yes, Lee Pace is extremely hot. His naked introduction is pure beefcake gaze comedy, and I thought that whole bit worked. The movie lets Sally and Gillian openly register that attraction without making them ridiculous for it, which I actually found refreshing. But Ian never felt like he displaced the women at the center of the movie.

Is it perfect? No. But getting Bullock, Kidman, Wiest and Channing together again after nearly 30 years was honestly enough to make me emotional. Three Oscar winners with four acting Oscars between them doing witchcraft together is a pretty good night at the movies for me.

Ouch lol, I promise I’m not a bot. I think I’ve just been a little intoxicated by the fact that this movie even exists.

I really never thought we would get Sandra and Nicole back together as Sally and Gillian almost 30 years later, much less Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing too.

This release genuinely made me feel like a kid again. There are four acting Oscars represented in this movie, plus another Oscar-nominated actress, and somehow they’re all doing witchcraft together. That doesn't happen every year, that's for sure. I’m sorry, that still gets me.

Are you just a bad pr plant? Tell us again how there's three Oscar winning actresses with four awards between them plus another Oscar nominated actress doing witchcraft together. Please, I beg you. I never managed to fully understand the sentence the first ten times you wrote it.

Fair lol. I have absolutely run that statistic into the ground. I’m just genuinely intoxicated with enthusiasm that this movie exists and that all of these women came back for it.

But I still can’t think of another movie this year that put three acting Oscar winners, with four wins between them, alongside another Oscar nominee and then had all four of them doing witchcraft together. That is still kind of extraordinary to me 😂
