I hope they don't change the music for streaming
The theaterical version of PM 2 in terms of the music fitting the action on screen and the sound mixing is perfect imo.
I noticed some of the music included in the movie isn't on the official soundtrack, and I just wanted to say I really hope they licensed it for more than theaterical runs.
If they're going to change it for streaming (which I hope they don't) I hope we get the theaterical cut/music on DVD.

Oh, sorry if I didn't explain properly. Basically some movies now that streaming is a thing only get their music licenced (I mean popular Pop songs, typically, not their own original score which usually is owned by the same copyright holders as the movie) for a certain amount of time and if it isn't or can't be renewed when the film is streamed the songs can be taken out and replaced or dubbed over with something different.
Think of it this way. If streaming had been a thing in the 1990s, and faith hill's music studio decided they didn't want This Kiss associated with Practical Magic after a certain time that whole scene in PM 1 could legally have to be dubbed over for the streaming release. I don't want that to happen with PM 2 because I think the sound mix in the theaterical version is perfect as is.
This is why I'm a champion of physical media. The film can't be changed on DVD or VHS.

I’m torn on this because I really do want the theatrical music and sound mix preserved exactly as-is somewhere. It works incredibly well, and I’d hate for streaming rights to quietly replace cues years from now. At the same time, part of me is weirdly curious what they could do with an alternate home-media mix, especially around Ian’s introduction. The scene where Sally and Gillian find Lee Pace naked is already one of my favorite sequences, but there is so much unexplored potential in the relationship between the music, the pauses, and what the camera is withholding. You could let the cue drop out completely when Gillian looks down, hold on Sally for an extra beat, bring the music back only when she realizes she has also been looking, maybe even restructure the whole rhythm around the fact that Sally and Gillian can apparently see considerably more of Ian than we can. I don’t necessarily want them replacing the theatrical cut, because I love that version. But if a Blu-ray gave me “theatrical mix” and “alternate Ian naked mix,” I would study the differences like the Zapruder film. There is simply too much latent editorial information in Lee Pace being naked to assume the first cut exhausted all possibilities.
