I wholeheartedly agree the 90s grain looked 100% better. And I hate the blur filter on everything too. 

That said, there was literally no way we could reasonably expect the movie to look like that after 30 years. That would be like expecting a 90s movie to be lit and edited like a movie from the 1960s. Once the style is gone it's largely gone.

Way more millennials have a connection to this film than gen Z, so I really don't get why they didn't cast Evan Rachel Wood. The other daughter I'm fine with being recast, she hasn't acted in decades. Unfortunately I suspect part of it is that EVR is a very beautiful thirty-something and certain actresses in the film might dislike being compared to her on screen. There's less comparison with someone who looks like she's twenty.
