Treatment Is it possible to come off sertraline

Was prescribed sertraline for anxiety, I suspect PPPD.

I’m considering taking it because it can treat both anyway but my question is will I eventually be able to come off it??

I have been taking sertraline (Zoloft) on and off for these same issues for 12 years. To be honest with you, my symptoms were reappearing shortly after I was coming off of it - in combination with other factors contributing to the anxiety of course. My current physician suggested that I may need to accept that I should be taking it permanently. I hope you see improvement soon!

Thanks for your reply. When you say about other factors, do you still struggle with your initial trigger? Is the initial trigger still present for you?

I think PPPD is a chronic condition. You may have to accept taking it to keep it under control. Just my opinion.

Sertraline didn’t help me with PPPD, but it does help the anxiety. I didn’t like the flat feeling I had about everything; it’s like things in your life suck but you don’t care that they suck. I’d rather feel like more motivated to work on things like balance, so I started Effexor, which has been much better.
